After stopping by Fishkill Farms we were pretty hungry and wanted some decent food. We googled our choices and found Cilantro. We were a big group of 11 people; adults and kids. We ordered tacos among other things. The waitress who took our order seemed nice but we were mistaken. First of all they need to update their menu saying that the kids menu applies to a certain range of ages. My cousin who is only 12 wanted to order grilled cheese and fries from the kids menu and was denied! We had two kids at the age of 12 and the other one was able to order it. We told the waitress she’s not very hungry and just wanted that and the waitress said that she couldn’t give it to her because there were like 15 cameras looking at her. If a kid orders something from the kids menu you don’t question what she wants. Just take the order and do your job. Definitely don’t be snotty about the situation either. Second, I’ve never heard of a mexican place making cheese quesadillas with cheddar cheese or yellow cheese in general. They should definitely put that detail on their menu. And the guacamole that came with the yellow cheese quesadilla was served with a side of sour cream and spicy guacamole not appropriate for kids. We ordered a couple of drinks among the order was a ginger ale soda. Now, i’ve never gone somewhere and it’s served with a wedge lime for a KID. I get it you have a bar but don’t serve your soda drinks with extra stuff unless specified. My other cousin ordered a well done cheese “hamburger” and it was not well done, it was way more pink than my “medium well” bacon cheese burger. The burger was very decent for its price and came with side of fries, lettuce, tomato, red onions. I can’t give my opinion on the other items but I did see that one of other kids ordered spaghetti and meatballs what cake was just spaghetti and Ground Beef. What was nice is that for those that didn’t order a drink, a glass of water was served with a wedge of lemon. For the amount of food ordered the total seemed reasonable. Our group paid in two transactions, seems the waitress who took our order was trying to charge us for an item twice and when we told her about it she was just eager to get the check to process the payment. Ridiculous. She needs to work on her customer service and better listening rather than just talking back. We will not be returning but she should definitely work on her customer service skills. I’ve worked in customer service for almost 10 years, not cool. I was unhappy with the service so only 8 bucks or so were given as a...
Read moreI’ve visited many Mexican restaurants, and although I know, everyone puts their own spin on their environment, practices ways and menu I feel that cilantro miss the mark. The reason I say this is for one when a customer is told they are being given the president version of a margarita And what I mean by Presidente is that you get to choose the liquor that goes into your margarita, so I chose Don Julio, but before I even made that choice, I asked the question do you serve frozen margaritas here the young gentleman responded yes yes we do when my drink was made And I received it. I was truly disappointed. Don Julio is a very strong tequila and when I tell you from drinking out of this very small glass of margarita for $14 I barely tasted any Don Julio in it. I know the establishment wasn’t very busy. I think it was me and another table in the small little venue the order taker/bartender/phone order taker kept finding his way to my table to ask me is there anything else you need? Is there anything else you need and in a way I felt like I was being rushed to finish my meal instead, he should’ve been asking me is your drink OK? How was your drink but that never came out of his mouth I guess when you know you didn’t do a good job there’s no need to question it my steak and shrimp chimichanga that I ordered was delicious hands-down it was very very good. My compliments to the chef or cook I also ordered a bowl of queso dip for my tortilla chips and it tasted greedy when I received it as if things were mixed in it to try to make it queso, but it wasn’t real queso and again I asked the question do you have queso and again I was told yes but what I received was so far from queso dip. So in my opinion, if you want fast and good food please by all means go here. But if you’re looking for good, strong drinks, frozen margarita style drinks, if you’re looking for a good queso dip for your tortilla chips don’t go here. If you want to enjoy your meal and not feel rushed, don’t go here if business is slow.
Please don’t get me wrong. I mostly came to this restaurant for frozen good margaritas by the reviews. I thought that’s what I was going to get and I...
Read moreIf I had the option I wouldn’t even give a star to be brutally honest. I ate from this place once before and it was “ok” (how could you mess up nachos & cheese anyway right?) I’ll get straight to the point..The food looked and tasted like it took 5 minutes to throw together AFTER I got it back to my house due to their trusted service “Grub Hub” they use to deliver their orders left $65 worth of food at another house down the street WITHOUT EVEN KNOCKING? Mind you it snowed the day before and my food is just left on the wrong addresses porch. The only reason I know this is fortunately my wife knows the woman where the food was left and she called to let us know. She was in the kitchen when the food was left and the driver had the nerve to just leave it there and not even knock?? I then called cilantro and they supposedly gave me the drivers number so I could maybe get a reasonable excuse? When I called the drivers phone he just played it off like I had the wrong number and hung up on me(good idea my man) I will never order from this dump again and if anyone ever asks me about it I’ll simply suggest McDonald’s. I’m pretty sure there’s inmates in jail who had a better dinner than I did last night after ordering from “Cilantro”....
