We both orderd the quesadilla burger and they made it nothing like on the menu. They just made it like a hamburger in tortilla shell buns instead of hamburger buns with lettuce tomato and onions and dry no mexiranch sauce not even on the side. So I mentioned it to the waiter he said that the lettuce tomato and onion was the Pico sauce which it clearly was not and I tried explaining it 3 times to him and that it was supposed to be both on top and bottom of the burger like in the picture. He argued once again with me that the picture is misleading as they are stacked on top of each other. Now I have had this quesadilla burger before at Applebee's so I definitely know it was not made correctly. He did apologize for not bringing the side of mexiranch sauce but he's the waiter and he should pay better attention to detail don't you think. Also why is the mexiranch sauce not on the burger? Isn't it usually? I think it was just another excuse. So get this he comes out with a plate of mexiranch sauce and Pico sauce. Clearly he can see the difference between Pico sauce and lettuce tomato and onions can't he? And see that the 2 burgers we were served absolutely did not have any on them, as I've said they both were dry except for lettuce tomato and onions with cheese of course. I mentioned wanting to talk with the manager but none came so I got up and asked another waitress to get him. When he came to the table I said the same thing to him and he argued with me also repeating what the waiter said. That the lettuce tomato and onion was the Pico sauce which it clearly was not. And showing him the picture on the menu prompted the same response also. So I feel that they are deliberately trying to rip off the customers by saving on toppings and condiments. I don't have any other explanations for why they will not serve you the item as described on the menu and when confronted about it you are met with difficulties. Seriously arguing with customers? Especially when the customer happens to be correct and the proof is right in front of you. I really wish I had my cell on me to document it and send it off to corporate. Sorry folks. I'm not impressed. It's not the 1st time I've been less than satisfied at this Applebee's and it's going to be the last time I...
Read moreThose Cinnamon Buns are deceptively small.
Ordered online for pickup several hours later in the day, going with a selection of the Chicken Wanton Tacos as an appetizer, the Zesty Lime Chicken for my main course, and Cinnabon Mini-buns for dessert. All in all coming to around $43.
When I arrived I was a few minutes early but found the pickup room to be unstaffed, I waited another five minutes on top of this to be seen to and another two minutes for the employee to return with my meal. Should have just gone through the front door, as I bet had the girl who showed up not come to clock herself in I would have stood there for who knows how long before leaving and bothering the hostess for my pickup. So we're already not off on a great start.
When I got home and opened everything up I was a bit underwhelmed. Lately when I open my take out orders I'm almost digging into them straight away, they would smell great, and taste good. But no such smells burst forth and the dishes looked rather sad, especially the mini-buns. To confirm my suspicions I took a bit of everything while it was still warm. The chicken lacked any zesty flavor, and more so tasted like metal. The rice was equally bland, and only saved by the juice soaked tortilla strips below the chicken. The tacos only managed to taste like coleslaw, with both the fried wanton and the chicken inside being also rather tasteless. At least the mini-buns had flavor, but when they began to cool off they turned into these hard lumps of cinnamon tar. Pretty disappointing.
It has been many years since I was last at an Applebee's, but this just tells me that either you need to eat inside to make sure your meal is as fresh as possible or that Applebee's take out is not good. OR the quality of this chain has seriously gone down hill. A shame, but I can only...
Read moreStopped into Applebee’s around lunchtime on Monday and ordered the 2 for $25 deal, choosing the boneless barbecue wings as our appetizer. Right from the start, things went downhill. The breading on the wings was mostly on the plate instead of the chicken, leaving just chunks of uncoated meat. They tasted okay, but the presentation was poor.
The seating was also uncomfortable. We were given a bench booth, and my seat had springs pushing up into me, making it hard to sit for long. The table itself was wobbly to the point where I had to stuff something under one leg just to keep it steady, and it was sticky and clearly not cleaned properly.
For our entrées, my nephew ordered the grilled cheeseburger with tomato soup. He specifically asked for no pink, yet the burger came out visibly pink inside. Not wanting to make a fuss, he just ate it, but it didn’t look appetizing at all. I ordered the chicken parmesan over fettuccine alfredo, and it was honestly inedible. The chicken looked slimy and unappealing, and when I tried to cut into it, it was tough and rubbery. I wasn’t about to risk getting sick, so I only ate the pasta, which was average at best.
When our server brought the check, he asked how everything was. I told him the chicken was gross and I couldn’t eat it. His response, “I don’t blame you.” That was it, no offer to replace it, no apology, nothing. If even your staff agrees the food looks disgusting, that says a lot.
I will never return to this location, and after this experience, probably not to any Applebee’s again. Truly disappointing meal, service,...
