Family Dinner Reservation for 8 People on Sunday 11/17 at 5pm. When We Arrived at the Restuarant, Our Group was Told "We Just Sat a Party of 30 and Your Table is Not Ready." Our Group was Finally Brought Into the Dining Room, and We Saw a Large Party of 30 of Half Adults Seated at One Long Table and Half Young Kids (Ages 10-11) Seated at Different Long Table on Left Side of Dining Room. Our Family Sat Down and was Immediately Impacted by the Loud Noise of the Group. It was Very Difficult to Hear Our Waitress, Place Our Order, and Have Casual Conversation Amongst Our Family. One Family Member is a Military Veteran with Hearing Loss, and Another Family Member is Hearing Impaired and Uses a Digital Hear Aids to Assist.
We Spoke with Our Waitress Several Times and Did Our Best to Explain the Circumstances. Our Waitress said "I Feel Really Bad and Wish I Could Do Something." We Understood, and At this Point Calmy Requested to Speak with Restaurant Manager. Joe Came to Our Table Appox 10-Mintutes Later, and We Did Our Best to Explain Our Ongoing Experience with the Loud "Cafeteria Noise" Making It Very Difficult to Hear in the Dining Room Area. We Explained that the Cause of the Problem was the Kids Not Being Supervised Properly by the Parents and Therefore Causing Disruption to the Restaurant Staff and Patrons. The Manager Told Us "The Larger Group of 30 Called 15 Minutes Before Your Smaller Group Arrived of 8 Arrived, and Since the Restaurant is Slow We Accepted the Large Group with Kids." Joe Went on to Say to Us "There Really Isn't Anything We Can Do About the Noise" and Left Our Table. Our Family was Very Dissappointed. We have Been Regular Customers at Delancy's for Many Years. The Food is Always Delicous, but this Poor Customer Service Experience was Upsetting and Disrespectful to Our Family.
Response to Owner - Please Check Your Security Cameras and You Will See the Adult Conversation I had with a Woman in the More Private Bar Area Regarding the Behavior of the Children in the Group. If You Continue to Watch Your Security Cameras, You will See a Woman from the Group Followed Our Hearing Impaired Family Member Into the Bathroom and Deliberately Yelled 3 Times as a Melicous Act Against a Person with a Disability. This "Hate-Motivated Act" Should Never be Tolerated and Your Indifference as a Business Owner is...

Cons: slow (nearly 2h) didn’t get our bread service didn’t get kids activities food was only tolerable price $$$
Details: We had 3 adults and 2 kiddos, arrived around 6:30pm on a Wednesday and sat outside. The waitress was nice, got our drinks, and took our order (3 adult entrees and 1 kids meal, no appetizers, no desserts), and we asked for kids coloring before she disappeared inside. We got salads that we were told came with our meal (there was a $3 upcharge per Cesar on our bill). When she returned to remove the plates, our 5 year old said it was taking so long! We explained that it had been a long day of travel and he was hungry. She finally came out while later with coloring (I don’t know why this took over an hour?), but a minute later our meal came out. At this point I brought our kiddo to wash up and saw that every table inside had a received a bread service! Apparently they had coloring and bread service, but my kiddo sat there uncomfortably for nearly and hour and a half.
If the food was amazing, we might have forgiven the long wait, but unfortunately we all found our food disappointing as well. The chicken franchise was completely lacking flavor, my husband was disappointed to be given plain white rice with his meal as they had run out of the saffron rice (he was not told until he asked why he received white), and my MIL’s mushroom ravioli was mainly a bowl of mushrooms with a few raviolis. We asked about the bread service and she said oh they must have missed you being outside. A man came out with what looked like a delicious assorted basket of breads, but unfortunately at this point we were not very hungry having finished the majority of our meals already.
If the bill had been lower for 31/2 meals and painfully slow, forgetful service, we might have brushed the lackluster food off as a cheap meal, but $125 plus 20% tip did not feel worth it at all. We regret going here and feel it was a disappointing start to...
Read moreHoping it was just a series of unfortunate events. My wife and I were seated in a short amount of time commensurate with most dining establishments. However here's where the train came off the tracks. We sat for fifteen minutes or longer, no one came by with water, no server came by to acknowledge us, nothing. Once we were approached our waiter Giovanni was amazing. He apologized for the delay and got us drinks. Sadly the food was not as great as the waiter. We both ordered soup, French onion and Lobster bisque. Both soups were tepid at best. The excessive amount of cheese on the French onion was too thick to fully melt and the bread had nearly completely dissolved. The pretzel appetizer was great and we would get it again. Entrees were OK, but not something to write home about. I ordered the veal Parmigiana. The veal was good and there was a large portion, again too much cheese to melt thoroughly however. The spaghetti was over cooked and the sauce was... well Italian moms and grandma's would be disappointed. It was thin and watery, and sadly tasted like chef boyardee canned sauce. My wife ordered the surf and turf. The Lobster tail was very disappointing. It was overcooked to the point of being the consistency of a rubber ball. The steak was one redeeming part of the meal. Oddly the worst part of the steak was the dull knife they brought to the table. That knife would be challenged to slice wet cardboard. The butter knife however saved the day. Itvalso took several tries to get refulls on water. Perhaps this is a good trai ing opportunity for the staff. We plan to try them again in hopes this was a unique and hopefully...
