Had dinner with my family in the back (outside). Service was not ok. They forgot a highchair for my 1 year old. I had my daughter get one from inside restaurant. Our food was served, we didn't have silverware. I told my daughter to get some from insude the restaurant. My daughter was told by the Rude Lady with short hair, to stop coming in thru the back. She has to use front door. We ignored that comment and continued our dinner. When all of a sudden it started raining. We were trying our best to make a good time out of it, but my baby got frightend by the heavy rain. It started pouring heavy and we decided to go inside the restaurant. Once again the rude lady stated "you can't come in thru here(back door). You have to go back outside and come thru the front door", I answered back, I was holding 2 dinner plates in my hands, with water on them from the heavy rain, my husband had a plate and was covering up my 5yr old, my mother was carrying my crying baby, my father was holding a fajita plate and beers, I said to the rude lady "it's raining, we're not going thru the front, she said "you have to go back outside and come thru the front, the refigerator door is opening" I responded back to her, no, we're not going back, it's pouring heavy rain, my son is crying and am holding our plates of food" she still insistes we go thru the back bc of a refigerator door being open , i responded "so hold the door or tell your employee to pleasehold a few mins before opening, were not going thru the back its raining (she was probably deaf and blind, bc clearly my baby was crying loud and with tears bc the rain had scared him) we walked away from her and sat at a table. We had 2 margaritas outside. No one offered a refill. And we didn't even drink halfway of it, and we still got charged full price. 2 of us chose to eat our wet food. No one gave us a discount, or a courtesy talk of how the situation was handled. They still had the nerve to add gratuity to our bill. We asked for them to remove it. They rude lady was arguing with us, she didn't want to remove gratuity despite the terrible service and lack of common sense. She had the nerve to say other countries there is no rain, why are we complaining. Sorry lady but we're not complaining about the rain, we're complaining about you asking us to take the long way into the restaurant with our crying baby while it is still pouring heavy rain. They refunded Gratuity. But Rude lady still had the nerve to say "Thank God we don't need your service, thank God our business is doing good" I believe she has regular costumers most times, and therefore since we were 1st timers, we stranded out, and she was too quick to judge the book by its covers. We are Latin American, with Mexican Roots, well manners and know how to Tip. This lady chose the wrong people. We will never reccomend this place. So if anyone coming from Legoland looking for a place to eat, Please don't come here. The lady and employees are all on the same side and don't believe in costumers being right. I am very disappointed with this place. We had bad service, we got wet, our food got wet, our margaritas got wet, and inside the restaurant were still the bad ones. They don't care about new comers. Only there regular costumers. Terrible place that don't know how to...
Read moreYUM ! As a frequent traveller to Mexico (Guadalajara, Mexico City, Monterrey just to name a few) I was honestly impressed by their dishes here .
Many many options to choose from (which we had such a hard time deciding on), but we opted for the taco variety and quesadilla .
Note: the quesadilla is BIG . And we were so happy that we brought a piece back home … easy delicious dinner ! It’s got the right amount of cheese , seasoning and meat (we went for chicken) . And let me tell you : typically in America tacos rule over quesadillas. But in REAL LEGIT Mexican establishments , quesadillas seem to rule over tacos . It just has more flavor profile !!
But si , the tacos es bueno ! We liked the carnitas , as that had the right amount of smoky salted goodness with a tinge of sweet .
I was super excited to get the churros and ice cream (because omg , authentic Mexican churros are by far soooooo much better than your Costco/Sam’s club ones) but sadly it wasn’t great . And the ice cream tasted and look like it was scooped out of a frozen tub .
But generally , the Mexican food is super delish and on spot , so I was so happy to have found a good establishment in this area… as good Mexican food is hard to find in the east coast .
I will def tell others about this place and will be back !
Btw the chefs are Mexican too ; which oomphs the authenticity factor .
Ohh .. the waitress was a bit rude .. but not too bad . She could have been a tiny bit more helpful in helping...
Read morePlace to eat if visiting Legoland, we wanted to eat actual good food, sorry Legoland, your food is bleh...not even ten min drive from Legoland My family and I have gone to many many Mexican restaurants. We go searching for restaurants to try there food, style of cooking and seasoning of the food. I will tell you, this restaurant is now in our top 3. Decor is great here with the tradio Mexican theme and decor. Service was very good our waitress extremely friendly. 1. The empanadas are top notch, (coming from a half Dominican and El Salvadoran family, I grew up with a few ways of homemade empanadas. Flavor is good, stuffed well with just the meat, no other fillers like rice or anything like that, also good size , great crisp and fry. They make it fresh on the spot. The shrimp we had in a tropical salad and with our El rancho platter with steak, great taste and cook on the shrimp. So falvorful. The rib eye steak, very juicy and flavorful, next to my own pellet grill recipe I make at home, it was very good. If your a chorizo person, very good cook, good taste Just know for kids burritos, it's shredded meat, flavor was good, a little sweet sauce but good in general, just know they serve kids style burrito with sauce on top and melted cheese all over as pics shows. The rice and beans very good, not over salted or too heavy in seasoning. Dessert was churros, yum, fried on the spot, warm and...
