If you were looking for an off the beaten path place for a quick ice cream bite I highly recommend Vanderwal’s in Appleton. They are located within the mall drive area.

VW’s not only has delicious ice cream but lots of other tasty treats, including cakes, cookies, muffins, personalized cakes, chocolates, other handmade, artesian, candies, and more.

I purchased a wedding cake for my anniversary a few years ago and they loved it. Everything was custom and I can’t say thanks enough. My mother was in tears when she got it absolutely beautiful.

We always get our pies here for Thanksgiving and everything is always scrumptious and delicious.

I stop in throughout the week for snacks for the office. Everyone always enjoys all of the treats and goodies.

I feel the prices are very very fair.

My husband adores the milk, chocolate melt, and dark chocolate peanut clusters. My mother adores the chocolates rolled and crushed peanuts. They are called fried oysters, even though they’re not really an oyster. It’s just an old school term from the 50s. All of their candies are simply off the charts and amazing.

They usually give out free samples on the way in and they have popcorn too.

Wow, so many things to choose from now I’m hungry and I have to go back later to find some goodies. Thank you all for your outstanding customer service and hospitality. So lucky to have your business in the Fox cities and so nearby our house. See you all soon....

I have been to the store twice this week. The first time the girl behind the counter acted like she was put out to wait on me. I made my purchases and didn't even get a thank you. Today I went in for cookies and while the girl was putting them in the box I asked her if she knew whether or not they were still going to make Angel Food. She then gave a 5 minute rant about how she didn't know and maybe today they would but people come in and buy it all......she was using a raised voice to me. I should have just left. I explained the only reason why I was asking is because I'm from out of town and this was my second trip. When you call the store you get the answering machine so I couldn't get the info from that. I was surprised at how rude she was just because I asked. I get they are super busy and are tired of all the questions.....but I don't need to be scolded either. Growing up in Michigan, anytime we came to Appleton we would stop at Vande Walle's. I always loved the angel food candy. I moved to Appleton last year and decided to make a stop for Valentine's day. It was nice to have a couple samples in the store as I was browsing. I got a bag of angel food, some peanut butter sticks, sea salt caramels as a gift, and an assortment of milk covered peanuts and cashews. I grabbed a ticket and after seeing several people come in after me and get help, I realized they were not using the ticket numbers. I waited for at least 10 minutes before I got help, and when I asked for chocolates, the employee then said they didn't have any boxes in the front and had to go get more. This took about 5 more minutes. I spent over 50 dollars and was very disappointed in the candy. The prices are quite high and I found them to be nothing more than average. Definitely not worth the price in my opinion, as I've had much better chocolate....
