Edit 6/11/2024: This place went downhill. I left my original review from a few years ago below to show how much I loved this place but I can no longer say that. My wife and I returned for dinner and all of the sudden we noticed things were different. The menus were redone, the cheese dip for chips changed, and my favorite meal (enchiladas San Miguel) was taken off the menu. We both tried something new and both of our meals were not good. The taco salad was basically missing the salad and very small in size for the cost. My enchiladas were all made incorrectly and the chicken inside was rubbery. Aside from the bad food, the service terrible. Our waitress didn’t check on us for the entire meal. My wife finished her dinner in the entire time it took for our waitress to check in on us. I simply wanted to ask for my correct order, a refill on my soda and napkins. When she finally checked in, she was quick to take action on the mistake but my re-make took even longer than we waited for her to check in on us. It had to have been about 30 minutes, if not longer, for the re-make. I ended up taking my re-make home and tried it as soon as I got home while it was still warm. It was not good and got fed to my garbage can. This is NOT the Margaritas I’m used to. It’s time to try a new Mexican restaurant as we will not be returning unfortunately. Very, very disappointing.
Original post: Amazing experience at the Syracuse location so had to try the new location close to home. While the service wasn’t as amazing (expected due to COVID, short staffing and new employees) the experience was still great! Food was just as good, our waiter was nice and the manager + bus boy stepped in to help when needed. Everyone around us was complaining left and right about food being “too salty” or wanting “less bubbles in their drink” like just enjoy your meal. This is the best Mexican food you’ll find in the 585. Period. I’m perfectly full right now and look forward to seeing if things pick up like their home location in the coming months. Will definitely be back! And to the person that posted how to owner parks 2 weeks before they opened.. who cares? They weren’t open to the public yet. He can park however he wants in his parking lot when they’re not open. It didn’t affect you or anyone else as they weren’t open yet. Get...

*UPDATE #2 (6 weeks later). A month ago, I went into the restaurant to bring my illness to the attention of management. A waitress comes up to me and tells me the manager is out having a baby. I expressed my concerns and she just stared at me surprised, said she hasn't had any other complaints and she's so sorry. After this incident, I now know 8 people who have had food poisoning from this restaurant. She disregarded pretty much everything I said, and said "well our molé has a LOT of spices in it.. completely ignoring the fact that I know other people who've gotten sick here.. I had to force her to write my information and formal complaint down, and asked to have a manager call me back to let me know the situation was handled by a supervisor. It's been 6 weeks and I've received no calls, and no response to my review. So I will be reporting them to the Health Department.
I was sick, in immense pain, and out of work for 72hours due to this.
I sincerely hope this doesn't happen to anyone else, and that there are consequences for the negligence of this staff.
*UPDATE #1 Over 24 hours later and I'm still sick and running to the bathroom. And my date now tells me that he was sick all day as well. This is absolutely insane. I will be going there today to file a formal complaint and have a manager investigate the source of contamination. I sincerely hope this doesn't happen to anyone else!!
OP: I went there last week for the first time and had the flautas. They tasted okay but were way overcooked, but as I was on work lunch, I scarfed it down anyway and left. I planned on giving it a second chance, and so I did last night. The mole poblano was better than the flautas I had prior, but it still wasn't anything spectacular.
But then this morning.... I had to call into work due to immense stomach pains, and make 7 trips to the bathroom in the last two hours.
I've NEVER had food poisoning this bad. Save yourself the trouble and go...
Read moreThe service was awful, other than the did sing for my daughter's birthday. They had terrible service. Didn't give us refills at all except for when we went to the bar to get them ourselves. The lady was unsure of the tortilla situation, so instead of bringing the correct amount of separate tortilla orders, they came as two separate tortilla orders with one containing 2 flour tortillas and 4 corn. Totaling 6 tortillas all together for 3 people to eat a whole meal that could make several tacos. Here's the kicker, they charge you for every extra side of the tortillas you get. They also no longer give you the salsa that comes with the chips for free anymore! They charge you for that, too. They decreased the amount of queso they gave you and still charge you 6 dollars for about a half cup of queso! That's insane 😳 I'm Hispanic, and I used to love coming here if I didn't feel like cooking. This is no longer the case. Everything is way overcharged now. The service has decreased. They changed the chef, and he changed the menu to be expensive, and all your bills have the built-in gratuity, for terrible service, and expect you to still tip. They got rid of one of the best waiters because he was sort of a package deal with the previous chef. So long, Leo. 😪 we had to sweep and clean our own mess, which I don't mind helping, the fact that no one even offered to clean it is crazy. The meal that used to cost us, like maybe 40/50, increased to 70/80 for just 3 people. 🫣😬 when they had better service, and checked in on us frequently, provided more tortillas with the meal instead of giving a bigger plate and barely any tortillas to make my tacos, gave us refills, napkins, and the food was worth coming here, this was my spot. That's not the way it is anymore, for sure. This place has gone downhill and just isn't what it used to be, and we literally used to come here allllll time!!! Like multiple...
