This is the second time I came to Allegro. My boyfriend's housemate Brian started hosting karaoke here on Wednesday nights from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM. My boyfriend and I came out to Brian's karaoke with my feral son to support Brian. First of all the patience this place had with my child, I appreciate it so much because my little boy is a handful and when I take him places I get so worried about being silently judged. I tried to keep my son engaged with the foozball machine and he was into it for awhile but eventually threw a tantrum over it. My son pounded the tables, cried and eventually started running up and down the long bench style seating in the restaurant area and I apologized to the bartender/waitress and she just told it was fine. I gave her an extra $10 on top of the tip my boyfriend and I gave her with our bill because I appreciated her kindness and tolerance so much.
They have espresso and cappuccino here and I had both. Both were very good! I don't drink alcohol and they didn't have any non alcoholic beer and I was dealing with a broken phone and an unruly child. I was using caffeine to cope a little bit and I was more than eager and happy to sample both the cappuccino and the espresso.
They offered $10 apps as a karaoke/happy hour special. My boyfriend got the chicken wings, he seemed pretty happy with them and ate them all. I got the mozarella sticks. The mozarella sticks are cheesy, HUGE for mozarella sticks and delicious. I ate 3 of them and gave my boyfriend two but eating three of them was probably the equivalent of 5 to 6 regular size mozarella sticks. I might have been able to eat them all but I was a little anxious about my broken phone and obnoxious child and sometimes when I get anxious I can't handle much food.
Coming to Allegro is worth it! I would suggest coming by on a Wednesday night for Brian's karaoke, you will get karaoke entertainment, good food and very...
Read moreThe specials and social media posts drew us to Allegro on a Monday evening. While Long Island has both many options for American and Italian cuisine, Allegro offers a fresh perspective on both.
From the outset, the dinning experience was polished: friendly servers, tables and silverware clean, a must. The menu itself was sleek and well-curated, showing thoughtful preparation. We started with two appetizers, American and Italian comforts: Buffalo Wings coupled with Italian Egg Rolls. Both arrived promptly after our drinks, served hot and crispy.
For entrées, we tried The Allegro, The Frankie, and the Classic Burger. Each arrived hot on clean plates, and the burger, was cooked perfectly to temperature.
While the food skillfully balanced American classics with Italian flair, what truly stood out were the specialty cocktails. Allegro’s takes on the Spritz and the Espresso Martini set the apart from any other bar or cocktail lounge. Each optioned offered a creative spin on familiar drinks. The standout of all? A charming “tiny tree” of three mini espresso martinis—an inventive way to sample different takes on the classic.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Allegro. On exit, I thought of the whether to come back for a second dinner or begin planning a birthday/after work happy hour. In the end, no matter the option, I will be back with...
