Big Bang Sushi&Poke — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

I ordered several rolls and a few entrees from here because of many factors, but the most swaying was because all of the great reviews I had read. For the first time in my life, I didn't want to finish my sushi. Definitely last time I'll be visiting here. The restaurant is closed for indoor ordering/seating [Clovid19 safety]. For you to make an order you have to either call or order from online. Both of those ways caused an issue. When trying to order online it [doordash, Yelp etc...] said the restaurant is closed - which it wasnt- and when you call if they're taking someone else's order it gives you a busy tone - try calling again after a few minutes. Once I called in my order, it took a reasonable amount of time to prepare - i had a larger order. From the moment I held the bag the smell of fish was overpowering. When I got home and check the food it was all there, but it looked meh[unappetizing]. When tasting it, the food was worse. In general the food looked fine, BUT what got me was how it smelt fishy and tasted very wrong/off. I cannot reccomend it for buying rolls/specialty rolls; I dont know how their poke bowls are, but I know after my experience, I'm less inclined to see how their poke bowls are. Went to this place because of the awesome Yelp reviews, and my husband was really excited to try them. When we got there, they were literally DEAD. We walked in to find one of the employees sleeping at one of the back tables, but he got up when we walked in. The employees were polite. Both said Hello and Welcome. We ordered our food and waited. Service was pretty quick and food was ok. Kane salad was good, however we found two hairs in the salad, which was gross. The chicken teriyaki was pretty good and my husband liked his custom created sushi burrito, but he didn't think it was amazing. The "rice wrap" was very hard and he could hardly bite it and the filling was dry and lacking flavor. The employees were nice to us, but they seemed a little curt when speaking to some other customers who came in after us. About 30 minutes after we left, my husband had severe sharp stomach pains and had to run home because of the food, so we definitely will not be coming back. The reviews were way more hyped up than we think is deserved. Would not recommend anyone...

I order from here often. I also eat here for lunch when I'm in the area. I've been supporting this place since it opened! Today , I used doordash to place an order as I was busy and couldn't go to pick it up. My friends lunch which was a roll was missing. I called them and the girl who works there answered. I said a roll was missing and she goes I know we made a mistake then hung up on me. I called back 3 times. Each time she picked it up and hung up on me.. so we called from another number, we said please don't hang up, we are missing food. She hung up yet again!!! We were trying to say, we will just come and get it. Her childish behavior is absolutely appalling. That is NO way to professionally handle an issue with your business. They have lost a long term and repeat customer for her unprofessional way to handle the situation. Grow up and learn how to speak to your customers whether we order from an app or through...
