Dim Sum Bloom in Rockville Centre has finally opened! Been waiting for a long time for legit dim sum out on the Island without the need to go to NYC’s Chinatown. Walk inside the doors to Dim Sum Bloom and find yourself surrounded by the aroma of freshly prepped dim sum along with friendly staffs. Choose from different kinds of drinks, dim sum delights, rice dishes, appetizers, and even desserts. Even though they are mostly take-out style, there are comfortable tables and chairs for you to eat right there. Popa shrimp dumpling then a shumai and you will already feel the ultimate satisfaction. With their immense menu, there are so much to choose from. Dim Sum Bloom is opened from 11:30am to 10:00pm daily so there is now an excuse to eat dim sum anytime any day! Official grand opening will be on Saturday, April 6th. They will be giving scratch off cards and keychain dumplings to celebrate. Right now it's in it's soft opening stage so the menu is limited but not too limited, a good amount is available. I does take a while since everything is steamed/made fresh when ordering. Allow a good 30 minute window for slightly bigger orders. I waited about 35 minutes. My order consisted of steamed buns, and pan fried dumplings. But all the buns and dumpling wrappers were super fresh. Fried rice orders take about 10mins. Everything is priced just right too. Not too expensive in comparison to order dim sum places. You can order from the 2 kiosk or you can order from the front cashier, who is extremely helpful with suggestions. Definitely a great unique addition to the neighborhood. I find this type of food everywhere in the city where I usually spend most of my time working but this particular place in RVC really makes a difference. They do know their menu and kindly come up with suggestions based on your mood and preferences. I’ve been there quite a few times and it’s was worth it every time. The girl at front desk always polite, willing to help and also bilingual which helped a lot to my folks with me on my last visit. I don’t care much about business appearance, if you know this block you know businesses owners have a limited space to play with.
