This is the second time I ate at this restaurant. This time was nothing like my first visit. I went for Sunday brunch with my husband and some friends. Here is my experience from beginning to end… It wasn’t overly crowded and they had a lot of staff on hand. Upon arrival the manager came over and introduced herself and informed us if we need anything to let her know. Unfortunately, those turned out to be empty words. The waitress came to take our drink order, she made a mistake only on one drink. We didn't say anything. They filled up our glasses with water ONCE and never came back. My food came out 5 to 10 minutes after everybody else’s did, and that’s only because I said something. Since we ordered the brunch board, me and my husband were sharing an egg dish. We asked two people for an extra plate, five minutes later she came with a plate, but by then I already got up myself and took one off another table. Five minutes doesn’t seem long, but it is when you’re waiting to eat and everyone else almost finished their food. Then my friends omelets was quite burnt, when we said something about it the waitress, said she’ll speak to the manager. Normally we wouldn’t say anything but when you’re spending $20 for eggs you expect quality food and at this point we were a little annoyed. The waitress informed us the manager said there is nothing they can do at this point, but she’ll give us ONE free dessert (there were 5 of us). At that point the manager should have returned to our table and apologized herself. The manager was young and probably inexperienced. Anyway, we took the free dessert, and can you guess what happened? We ordered an ice cream bowl, they brought it to us without any silverware. We told two people that we needed spoons, another 5+ minutes went by, we finally got some spoons but by then almost the entire ice cream was melted and we were left with ice cream soup. We ordered cappuccinos, they were basically regular coffee with milk with a higher price tag. They also forgot to bring the sugar to the table I had a track somebody down to get that too. My first experience last year was great, this was nothing like that. The staff is all young, and requires better training. Some simple things to teach your staff to possible save time, so they don't disappear for 5+ minutes every time something is asked for by a guest. When they bring drinks, make sure the wait staff has straws handy in case they are asked for, bring sugar when coffee is ordered, if you are too busy to refill our beverages (even water), leave a craft of water on the table. If you take our silverware after eating, make sure when bringing dessert it automatically comes with spoons. At this time I cannot recommend this restaurant. I hear the restaurant Mesita next door is good, I will try that...
Read moreI really hate writing these reviews, but I have to share my experience this past weekend.
Visited Ainsworth this past Saturday and unfortunately didn't have a great experience. My wife and I set reservations on open table for 4 pm to dine in. Upon arrival, we were told open-table wasn't working properly, and our reservation couldn't be honored. We immediately asked for a manager. The manager reiterated the same thing said by the host (brunch just ended, and we are not serving food until 5 pm). I told the manager we just drove from Brooklyn, over 25 miles because my pregnant wife is craving a steak from here. He said, "Hold tight, he'll check with the kitchen. A few minutes later we were told we could sit at the bar and be served from the brunch menu. While sitting at the bar the service was HORRIBLE. The server was giving us an attitude and ignoring us like we did something wrong! We've been to Ainsworth several times, and service is usually stellar. It took over 10 mins to order, and like I said the server attitude was nasty. My wife was trying to ask her a question about the menu, and she was ignoring her. After we finally got her attention she responded, "Didn't you see I was doing something? You have to wait, I was trying to get your order in. My wife responded yes I saw you were entering our order, and we wanted to make changes." What's the problem? The server responds you can't make any changes this menu is set and walked away. At that point I was ready to leave. My pregnant wife looked so uncomfortable sitting in the bar stool but she really wanted this steak so we stayed. Once the food came out my wife immediately noticed her steak was cooked incorrectly and was missing a pineapple that comes with it. Roughly five minutes later we got the server attention and informed her that the steak is cooked rare and not medium well. She than took the plate and walked away. I didn't get a chance to tell her my chicken was way over cooked. Ten minutes later the server returns and puts my wife steak in front of her. No sorry for the inconvenience, no words, nothing.
I get it things happen. Brunch just ended, and the kitchen needed time to regroup and the issue with the website didn't help, but when dining out and spending over $200, all a person wants is good food and great service. Like I said we've been to Ainsworth several times and this experience was...

If you’re looking to dive into Halloween magic, Jack’s Nightmare Halloween Pop-Up at The Ainsworth in Rockville Centre is a must-visit! Inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas, this pop-up delivers on every front—decor, food, and atmosphere.
The Halloween-themed decor and ambiance were perfect, fully embracing the spooky season. The food was fantastic, with quick and attentive service that made the experience even better. We tried a few options from the special menu, including a fresh Caesar salad that was crisp and flavorful, and a steak sandwich with perfectly cooked, tender meat. Each dish was delicious, well-prepared, and came out promptly.
Another highlight, was the bar! The drink menu was customized for the Halloween theme, and the bartenders were experts at mixing and pouring. They even brought a huge 51-ounce drink to our table and poured it right there, adding to the fun of the experience. This table-side touch really made the night feel interactive and memorable.
The staff was friendly, and Jack himself made an appearance along side Sally, adding to the fun with table-side interactions and photo ops that made the evening feel extra special. With great food, fantastic service, and a memorable theme, this is easily a five-star experience that we’d recommend...
