I began visiting as a teacher on school trips with my job years ago. Therefore, I had my daughter's birthday party at this place in May 2024. The lead woman tasked with the party was incredibly rude and condescending toward the children. My daughter and her friends are about 3-4 years old. Many of my guests were taken back at the way she spoke to the children and conducted the party. (I don't think this age group was her strong suit.) After a horrible party, the clerk at the register did not realize I was still in the store and stated, "Thank God they left." I was incredibly hurt and taken aback as all we did was play music from 'Trolls" and the children were so well-behaved.
After the incident, I proceeded to call the owner, Karen. I was met with resistance from the staff to get access to her. When I finally reached her, she listened to my concerns and asked how she could make it right, I asked her to think about it and call me back with what she thought was appropriate. I am still waiting for that call two months later. I have tried the store several times afterward and she obviously is dodging my calls.
I am so saddened by this experience because I really liked this place prior to this...
Read moreWent to ARTrageous on my daughter’s 20th birthday with family (reserved). Since it’s located in Rockville Centre village, you will need to park down the street in metered parking set for 2 hours (have quarters or debit card handy to pay). The place is nice, the staff doesn’t really interact or explain anything , just tell you to go to shelf & choose what you want to get to do craft (pottery ect). You will have to return 3 weeks for to pick up your pottery because they have to heat glaze it. Ranges for items can be from $25 and up depending on piece that you choose. Their customer service is not that great, you do have to ask questions & no one stops by to see how everything is going. You are basically paying to do crafts on your own with no guidance or interest in the customer experience. I had a better experience at Michael’s craft store when my daughter attended a birthday party years ago when she was younger. For 4 of us (2 cups, one pokeman small figure & bird dish) it came to $150 plus tax. Very expensive. This will be the last time I go there, not warm inviting customer friendly atmosphere for arts &...
Read moreI went back to Artrageous after a year absence due to Covid. Just starting to get back into having a social life. I asked for my pottery that I had paid for and completed a year ago only to find out it had been sold.
The only thing the staff kept telling me is that they only keep items 6 months but extended it to a year due to Covid.
This may have been on their receipt but it should have been pointed out to me when checking out and a courtesy call should have been made before selling my art work.
If I had known this I could have made arrangements to get the item. I would gladly have paid for shipping if asked.
As someone who runs their own retail business I consider this extremely poor customer service and shame on you for reselling my item and also keeping the money I originally paid for it. Not to mention denying me of what was a nice...
