I originally went to La Mesita, (across from this restaurant), for their awesome tacos- but I they were closed for 30 min, so I decided to try Salsa Mexicana. I was happy to try a new place. I ordered guacamole and it came out almost instantly. It didn't feel like it was fresh. It was very smooth like the pre-made guac from stores. We sat there waiting for chips, just staring at our guacamole. After a while, we had to ask for our waiter to chips. It did not taste as good as the very fresh guacamole from La Mesita. Then we ordered our tacos. One order of steak tacos..and one chicken. My steak tacos were chewy with fat. It has so much moist stuff that the entire taco fell apart. I did not like them at all. I really tried. I ate them out of hunger but was disappointed. Also, they put the tacos on a aluminum rack in the "middle" of our food. Terrible idea!! I struggled to eat the rice n beans. Made me wonder if this taco holder was sanitized. (See picture of it below) My cousin had the same problem. He ate the chicken tacos but was very upset that it was mixed with very hard pork skin (grinds). It was like chewing rocks. I tasted them too. That is not a good combination for tacos. My guest did not eat most of it. I paid 60.00 and walked out completely regretting it. I should have waited for Mesita to open. 😖

Nice Happy Hour Spot. Popped in after a meeting for quick bite. Decided on Chicken Taquitos. The menu states for the table but enough for one if you're not looking for a big meal. Service was quick and polite from hostess, to server, and bar. Taquitos were well seasoned served on a tasty slaw with feta cheese. If your like some fire for your food remember to ask. This paired well with a ice cold corona. They have a nice line up of Margaritas. Yes, even a Habernero flavor for the brave. Music was at nice volume loud enough that you don't have shout and place has some nice art work on the walls. Only gave 4 stars because I didn't have the full experience of place with a crowd or any Margaritas just yet. But overall I had a good experience.

This was some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. I ordered the suiza chicken enchiladas and the were perfect. Texture, flavor, size, amount of sauce and cheese, everything. Chips they brought out were great. There salsas were all great. Ordered guac and that was great too. My wife loved her tacos. It was honestly one of the best meals I've ever had. Now you're probably asking, why only 4 stars? Table was small and the plates were big so it felt cramped. Two of us ordered enchiladas and we got rice and beans to share when there was plenty of room on our plates. And cost. It was about $190 (with tip) for four entrees, one app, and 8 drinks. With that said, the food was good enough to where I plan on going again.

If I could give this 0 stars I would in terms of their customer service and cleanliness. I am very disappointed as I've been to this restaurant a few times with my friends and family but last night ruined this restaurant for me. We encountered 3 employees who displayed terrible customer service skills. When we arrived the hostess told us it would 25 to 30 min for a party of 5. We were fine with that and sat at the bar. About a half hour later the hostess came up to us and asked if we were waiting on a table. She had completely forgotten about us which is obscene because the hostess stand is in an ear shot from the bar. She then told us it would be 15 to 20 min. A bus boy came up to us and told us he was putting tables together but it wouldn't be very comfortable. Great. Finally our table was ready after an hour and we noticed the family who came in after us had already finished eating. I said something again to the hostess and she claimed I had left the restaurant and that's why she had forgotten about us. I assured her our party had never left the restaurant. I then had the pleasure of another waitress who didn't even end up being our waitress basically come up to me to stick up for the hostess and tell me I was wrong. Our waiter was fine and tried to make up for the bad experience but he only gave us ONE free corona. Wow! That is just an insult on a $150 bill. Forgot to mention there was a hair in my corona lime and a piece of rice in my husbands "clean" fork. Officially never going to this place again! This is not how customers should be treated. There is absolutely NO organization or...

Picture it, Cinco de Mayo during COVID-19, and my family and I are sheltering in place like we're supposed to. We place a large order at Salsa Mexicana, the Rockville Centre location - at 5:00pm EST. We were told we'd get our food at 6:10pm EST the latest.

At the time I'm writing this "review" it is 7:12pm EST and still no food, AND THE DRIVER IS STILL WAITING OUTSIDE. Now, we expected some delays because it is May the 5th but this is unacceptable. Furthermore, there is no one picking up the phone nor is there any discernable infrastructure for customer service. The driver went above and beyond in this case, entering the restaurant so he could give us an update, only to walk into a heated fracas that we all had the pleasure of overhearing, via cellphone.

7:45pm EST: The driver pulls up (masked and gloved) apologizing profusely for something that clearly was not his fault - and yes, we did tip him. How was the food? OK. The soft tacos were fresh but I'd ordered hard shelled, we got the wrong potatoes, and the quesadillas were tasty burritos. We're still talking about how ridiculous this is.

Opinion, there is a deficiency in Management. Had there been some stronger leadership in place I believe the workers and the customers waiting would have had a better experience. I've seen this restaurant around town and was anxious to check it out, of course once our quarantine is done. After this experience I will give it...

Culturally appropriated Mexican cuisine at its "finest"...? The food was pretty darn decent considering we were in the area & just wanted a quick bite @ a good price. Found this place on Groupon. Very good lobster, crab, & shrimp quesadilla btw. We both ordered the paella burrito (86 the churizo please). Portions were so big, I felt overwhelmed. Good thing it was cut in half & easy to handle. Was definitely looking forward to taking home the 75% I had leftover (I'll come back to this). Upon receipt of the bill, presented Groupon deal for redemption... "Sorry, we can't take this. It's only good for dinner". I can't tell you how many times we've used a Groupon "dinner" deal in the afternoon w/ no problem in that specific vicinity. Not sure why it's such a big deal but Ok, no problem. We're not cheapskates. HOWEVER, now we have a paid for deal that we most likely won't be using before expiration since we live an hr away. May I recommend listing a specific dinner time in the fine print going forward? Now I'm home & reach for my leftovers which should have been the 75% I was looking fwd to. Apparently only the half was packed up. Whaaaat? Where's the remainder of the 1st half? So we paid full price for something that we'd already partially paid for via Groupon AND we didn't get all of it????? I feel thoroughly ripped off....
