Friends of mine who were travelling cross country from California had stayed here when they were in the tristate area. They found it to be very comfortable. I had the need to stay in Rockville Center recently as well and they suggested I stay at the Hampton Inn. it is a nice sized property, clean and well maintained. There is ample parking outside as well as handicapped parking spaces as well. As you enter the lobby, there is a nice sitting area on one side of the room and the main desk is on the side opposite this. Jason did my check in and was very efficient. I was in my room in no time. The room I was assigned was comfortable and spacious. The bed was large and very comfortable. The room itself was well lit. There was a nice sized desk area with ample outlets and USB ports for charging. The desk light was great and the desk chair was very comfortable and on wheels. The floor of the main room is carpeted. There are lights on either nightstand and an alarm clock and phone to contact the main desk. On the side of the room closer to the window, there is an oversized chair with ottoman and a table that you can either use your computer or eat a meal while watching television. The closet is very nice, ample room for coats, etc. and there is an luggage rack in the closet in addition to an iron and ironing board. The main room has low bureaus for clothing storage as well as coffee service, a microwave and a small refrigerator. The bathroom is very comfortable, The bathtub shower had good water pressure and the water was hot. There are enough towels in the room itself. If you need more, all you have to do is contact the front desk and they will take care of it. The bathtub has a grab bar and there is shampoo, conditioner and body wash mounted to the walls of the bathtub shower for use. The breakfast is really the highlight. It is located on the first floor just beyond the check in area. It is really comprehensive. They have a coffee and tea area which is available to guests 34/7. The breakfast included eggs, sausage, bacon, southern style gravy, biscuits, waffles, muffins, scones, bagels with cream cheese, yogurt, fresh apples, and fruit cups, I was surprised to see that toppings for the waffles included the usually maple syrup but also chocolate syrup, marshmallows and chocolate chips. Juice was also available and the staff in the breakfast area were very kind and always busy restocking the food stations. There is an ATM just off the main lobby and there are laundry facilities on a level below the main one. There is a small area nearby the check in area where you can purchase ready to eat foods as well as candy, toiletries you may have forgotten and laundry soap as well. However, to avoid being overcharged, there is a CVS within walking distance of the hotel. A Chase bank is also nearby along with many delicious restaurants. There is no sit down dinner restaurant in the hotel itself. Chat Noir [a French bistro] is within walking distance and is very good. There is also a King Kullen supermarket nearby. In terms of the front desk, Ed was very helpful in letting me know what the hotel had to offer and Elizabeth was instrumental is helping me straighten out out my WiFi problem. It was an excellent stay, very comfortable and I would recommend highly and...
Read moreAWFUL MANAGEMENT AND UNJUST $250 FINE. I'm being kicked out my hotel room for smoking in it which I didn't not. I received a call while getting ready for bed from management explaining I will have to leave tomorrow morning for smoking in the room and asked me to go to the front desk. I demanded he came to my room knowing why they might think that. I smoke twice per day once I come back from work. Both outside and also say hey to front staff everytime on the way out and in. I have high functioning Asperger's and will only smoke in my smoking hoodie because I don't want my other clothes to smell. I will wash it once per week when I return home but I only where it for 20 mins twice per day. He came in my room and said it clearly smells that you smoked in here and no matter how much I plead he wouldn't accept my reasoning to the smell. Then out of nowhere saying the smoke alarm was going off and they were banging on the door. I asked when but he could only tell my this morning. I take very hot showers and while I'm showering I set my phone up on the vanity to play a TV show in the background while I shower. Yes I was in the shower and my phone playing but the bathroom door was open and I couldn't hear any alarm or banging. Im having to pay a $250 fine for obeying the rules of the hotel. I even walk off the property a lot out of respect of new people parking. I was told I have to wait for morning management to be able to look into this further so now I will be getting a horribles night's rest from my anxiety and will have to look for a new hotel before I go to work in the morning. I know this is long so thank you if you are still here. I have never felt so disrespected from a hotel staff and I have been traveling for the last 6 months with no issues anywhere else. The way he shut down the front staff when trying to talk was disrespectful to them also. I've read a lot of reviews for this hotel and quite a few have said they have been accused of the same thing and have to pay. I don't like if they are trying to make some kind of bonus from additional charges to rooms. I will be telling my company my...
Read moreDirty Sheets were discovered on my bed the night of my arrival.
It was reported the night of my arrival to a very nice young lady who worked the front desk. I slept on the couch because of no resolution that night. I reported it again in the morning with a pleasant representative. I did not note her name but she told me to see Amanda her manager after my breakfast.
I spoke with Amanda, at first she was attentive. She asked to see the picture of the dirty sheet. I accommodated her immediately, she then gave directions to email the picture. She asked if I knew the name of representative from the night before. & I kindly indicated that I did not get a name but I communicated she was a lady. Amanda then became defensive about me not knowing her name. I told her I did not get a name. She demanded a name as important to file a report. I then informed Amanda that I”m fully aware of reporting procedures regarding her staff but I did not have a name and we are losing focus on the fact I had dirty sheets with evidence from my picture. Amanda then became rude, dismissive and arrogant towards me for not knowing the name of her staff.
I did not appreciate her manner of behavior regarding my complaint. I was soft spoken and respectful the entire time. Amanda had no right creating an inquisition with me regarding remembering names of her staff as though I am the guilty party and not addressing the complaint. Dirty Sheets!
The hotel establishment failed in exceeding my expectations as a good and honest customer within the Hilton family by not addressing the dirty sheets and demanding I provide information about her team to resolve the matter.
The negative experience regarding the dirty sheets and then treated me like a criminal about names, was intolerable. Such behavior should not be experienced by a guest. How dare Amanda treat a guest such as myself in that horrific manner around dirty sheets. This was an unconscionable customer experience.
By the way, your Manager name Amanda, I’ll never forget her name or horrible .treatment from this day forward and I will never stay at this...
