I'm a huge fan of the Burger Bar which is Burgerology's parent restaurant. I heard from the staff that they also had 2 other restaurants one in Huntington and the other in Rockville Centre. I live closer to the Huntington restaurant and I've tried 2x to get in there and it is always packed and if not its easy an hour plus wait. If that doesn't tell you it's amazing along with my experience at their parent restaurant nothing will. Well I happen to be in Rockville Centre and figured I'd give it a shot although I heard from one or two people when they've heard me speak of The Burger Bar and how amazing it is their feedback wasn't that positive.....wasn't bad but it wasn't a raving review as I expected. So I gave it a shot, its located right in the heart of all the hotspots to eat and hang out off Merrick Rd, place was busy for a Monday afternoon but not that you had to wait to get seated. My wife ordered a Henry Ford and I ordered an Edison based upon the waiters recommendation. Mine came as described and I opted for the Poutin fries which I've had at The Burger Bar (and was a meal in itself with meat, gravy, and melted mozzarella) upon presentation looked somewhat identical which was fine but upon the first bite the cheese was cold and not melted, and there was no meat. The burger lacked salt and maybe their signature bacon or whatever their sauce is that's applied to the bun maybe it needed more of it......I don't know. My wife's burger was good but she felt it had too many overpowering flavors to really enjoy the way she has enjoyed other meals at The Burger Bar. Was the meal bad, NO. Just wasn't hitting the notes and expectations that The Burger Bar has set the bar up so high. So for it to be a $20 burger I didn't see it. Maybe in the future I'll give it another try when I'min the area. I'll give the Huntington restaurant a shot and get a...
Read moreI called this establishment at 2pm on the date of my daughter’s graduation to make reservations and was advised that they only do walk-ins. I asked what is the latest time to come in and I was advised 945pm. I arrived at 915pm and I was advised it would be a 30 min or less wait to be seated and gave my name and number to be seated. I was called at 945pm and was asked if I would like to order our Bc the manager wanted to close early and they don’t think there will be seating in time before the kitchen closed. I asked to speak to manager and walked back to the front desk where I was met with Guss (manager) I explained the issue and his response was “yeah I don’t think we’ll be able to seat you” upon referencing the 2 parties of 2 sitting at tables of 4 he said “listen I’m not gonna argue with you if there is a table at 10pm I’ll seat you if not you won’t be serviced tonight” Turned off my boyfriend no longer wanted to eat at the establishment so we opted to leave, before doing so I took two pictures of the seating and Guss walked over to me less than six feet during these times with no mask which made me feel vertical uncomfortable as to force me out the door way saying “can you please not take pictures inside the store” I asked him where that policy was and advised him why I needed the pictures and asked for a corporate number and he stated “idk what you need to call corporate I don’t have a number”. I advised him he could take us off this list we no longer would like to be seated and left the establishment. I look forward to trying Bugerolgy but it won’t be at this site. Guss should be retrained as a Managenent professional he in no way shape for or fashion represented this establishment with the level of professionalism My family deserved or expected on their...
Read moreArrived here early Sunday (almost noon) and no one was here. Was seated right away. Sat down and our server came to us immediately taking our drink order.
I had the red sangria. It was served in a pint glass which I very much appreciated. It was deliciously yummy.
We had the Bavarian pretzel for an appetizer and my oh my was it appetizing. It was huge and light and fluffy. It was served with ground mustard, honey mustard and beer cheese. Yummy.
I got the "Hudson Valley Turkey", which is an 8oz. Turkey Burger, topped with avocado, caramelized onions, baby spinach and house sauce served on a multigrain bun. It was absolutely delicious. The turkey burger was well seasoned and tasted freshly made.
My husband got the "Einstein" which is an 8oz. Blend burger, braised short rib, swiss cheese, caramelized onions and cabernet gravy served on a torta bun. He loved it. He said it tasted delicious and was reminiscent of a French dip sandwich. He'd definitely get it again.
The child had the "Edison" which is a 8oz. Blend topped with sunny side up egg, bacon jam and maple aioli on a torta bun. She loved it, though the bacon jam was a bit too much for her the more she ate. Each burger came with house cut fries and a side of what I think was garlic aioli. Very tasty and flavorful.
We went to Rockville Centre location which was easy to get to though the parking sucked. Thankfully they just opened up a new location in Astoria, which is walking distance from home.
There was no room left after our deliciously filling meal so we decided next time to...
