Rockville Centre Public Library — Attraction in Town of Hempstead

Who doesn't love the library? It's a great public service. I used to complain that other Nassau County libraries had a better selection, and that library resources were devoted to video over books, but advances made have rendered those complaints moot... the whole library catalog is available online and most materials can be delivered to the local library for pick up! They even have other systems available, and they are eager to locate rare requests and help you get them! Once they found a book I was looking for in Australia... unfortunately they couldn't get it easily but it wasn't that...

We love this library for the children’s section and programs. This place uniquely caters well to children of all ages. It’s adorable children’s play area is nice and clean. There is a small space for the kids to have snacks as well. The librarians in the children’s section are wonderful and so kind. And the changing space in the bathroom is always clean. They even have a small child bathroom. While I’ve seen larger libraries, this one is definitely nice. The parking can get a little crazy during busy times. But we always go during off peak...

The RVC Library is an excellent local library. The Librarians go out of their way to help in recommending good books, DVDs and other items. If they don't have what you need, they look for it in the Nassau system. Very helpful. I've attended several excellent adult programs, one for drivers not only sharpened my skills but I was able to get an insurance discount. I think of the RVC Library as the town jewel, and the best...
