I won’t lie the food here is very good and the Lynbrook Deli is a staple to the town of Lynbrook. But, there is one thing that needs to be addressed and it’s the quality of customer service. I’ve attempted to call in orders many times just to have the line ring for upwards of two minutes until the call drops because no one answered the phone. As someone who’s worked in the food industry themselves for close to a decade, having no one available to answer the phone is both money you’re missing out on and a lack of regard for a standard business practice. That’s why it’s important to have a dedicated employee working the phones at all times. I understand at times food service can become chaotic when it’s busy as I am aware this is most likely the case here too as the shop always seems to have a line of customers. But, in this case I feel there simply isn’t a person to take call in orders. More like "who ever is free pick up that phone" type deal which can be a problem if no one is ever free as I have witnessed myself many times. And by no means do I dislike the Lynbrook Deli. My family and I have been coming here for years and have enjoyed countless sandwiches and prepared foods from them. I’m just hoping to bring an issue to their attention in hopes of seeing a...
Read moreIs the food good? Sure, if you can actually get it. The regulars must really keep this place afloat, because apparently once you walk in the door, they're all that matter. If any customer ahead of you is friendly with someone behind the counter, then I hope you brought a tent because you'll be waiting a WHILE for your food. It's one thing to be friendly to your customers. It's another to let a line pile up and up and up whilst you're sitting there having a conversation with one or two customers. I have tried to call in a pickup order upwards of 10 times. The phone has been answered exactly once. I'd imagine because the employees are too busy schmoozing to actually care about serving the customers who call in. My honest recommendation to this place would be to fire your entire staff and start over with people who actually have some sort of work ethic. Short of that, maybe hiring a few people who actually care about work might help move your lines along.
If you're a regular, you're royalty here, so I guess keep going. But if you're planning on stopping in for your first time, don't bother. The food isn't good enough to be worth being completely ignored for long periods...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I were in the neighborhood, hungry for something good. We ordered a platter of egg whites with cheddar cheese, hash brown patties, bacon, and a large coffee for him, and a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese and a blueberry muffin for me. After I'd made the order, they called back to tell me they were out of everything bagels, but would I like an egg everything bagel instead? Best substitution I could have asked for. The bagel was perfectly toasted, soft yet crispy, with just the right amount of cream cheese .The muffins were lined up in actual muffin tins, so they look homemade. I was absolutely delighted with how the good the food was, how sweet the service was, and how quickly everything was ready. I think I've found my new breakfast spot! Can't wait to go back tomorrow...
