Disappointing business practices with how she handles cancellations and fees. She doesn't allow you to cancel and get your deposit/non-refundable fee unless you reschedule (no other option), and keeps the fee ($30), even if you never plan to visit. I cancelled a whole week before. It doesn't matter how early you cancel. You're locked in after you make an appt. Additionally, there's an excessive credit card fee (above the legal limit) just for using your credit card. Yes, there are alternative ways to pay, but you shouldn't force customers into paying cash or Zelle by charging illegal fees. For these reasons, I choose a lash tech with more reasonable, legal, and customer-friendly policies.

To explain further, I cancelled the same day I made the appt (which you can see in your records). I made the appt and cancelled on 6/24. Yes, many businesses charge a deposit, but every business I have been to shows that they also refund you that deposit for cancelling at least 24-48 hours in advance. I cancelled a week before on 6/24. My appt was July 1st. You are aware of this. Your agreement indicates that you do not refund this deposit ("deposits are non-refundable"). Your only available option to use this deposit is to reschedule the appt that same month, which is something I've never seen before and didn't know was possible.

Also, "A surcharge cannot exceed the fee the merchant pays to the credit card company for that specific transaction." You charge beyond the surcharge cap for cc transactions, which pushes customers toward paying cash/zelle to avoid excessive fees. Customers should not be burdened with excessive fees ($10 no matter the price it seems) for the convenience of the business receiving cash. Each cc company has a cap.

Also, I believe you sent this service agreement and liability waiver AFTER the $30 deposit...

Got my lashes done for the first time recently with House of Lash & they have gained a costumer for life. These lashes are so soft, comfortable, they look amazing and you can barely feel them. She has different styles to choose from. She is super gentle and welcoming, I fell asleep in the chair the first time lol.
