Masago — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

The food is always great, and Masago is possibly my favorite sushi spot in our area. In person they are always very hospitable and the service is great. That being said nearly every time I call for a delivery the experience is akin to being 10 years old and having to call my annoyed mom while she's at work to ask her if she can get McDonald's on her way home and she reluctantly agrees; angrily answers the phone as if Im waisting her time (doesn't even mention the name of the restaurant just says "hello" angrily), "what do you want" and "what else" in a frustrated tone. I'm always half expecting the woman on the phone to reprimand me in the most stereotypical, frustrated, mom voice/tone by saying "No I'm not getting you thats all you ever eat" or "No thats it you won't be able to eat all that food." Even the way she says "thank you" at the end reminds me of when my mom was angry at me but still "I love you" even though she's thinking about killing me or putting me up for adoption. I'm always shocked by just how bad of an attitude this woman has, at least my mom could fake being courteous like picking up a phone call while she is in the middle of yelling at my sister and I and going from "You're both grounded!" to "HI!!! How are you? So happy that you called!" in a Stepford Wives type tone. Besides this one woman's unprofessional and just generally off-putting attitude...

My husband and I have been coming here since we moved to Oceanside over a year ago. Prices are great and food has been decent too so it's nice for a quick dinner. However, I was SO disappointed today with the salmon dinner box that we got for takeout. I rarely leave reviews but this was so unacceptable that I had to let them know it's not ok. The tiny serving of salmon they gave was overcooked and charred on both sides, and extremely greasy. Normally the salmon is served over a bed of veggies like broccoli, baby corn, carrots, zucchini, and onions. Today it was served over poorly cooked red and white onions with a slice of boiled potato which looked GRAY, one broccoli floret, 2 frozen carrot slices and 6 kernels of corn. Pitiful. My husband was grossly underwhelmed with his tasteless pad se ew. I don't know what went wrong today but this is completely unacceptable. Needless to say we will not be returning. This place is awesome and good prices sushi. One thing inspired me to write a review: A stupid customer on the phone at 9pm on Valentine's day complaining that something they got wasn't crispy enough. You're a joke and probably eating your food single on Valentine's day and I never heard such a stupid complaint. The food here is great and a great price considering. Ive gotten sushi from here for two years now and not once can I complain. I feel someone can have a bad review or complaint here or there but if you have delivery complaints then why not get up and pick it up yourself or work in delivery service for a week. It's not like anyone can run a business themselves but this spot deserves good praise and today on Valentine's day its packed and I ordered in advance like a smart person. 5 stars well deserved and the angry person complaining about stupid minor things should try not eating for a day so they can appreciate...
