Petco — Local services in Town of Hempstead

Shop at the Baldwin store not Oceanside. Very unhappy with this store and how they handle customer service. I went to return dog food my dog had issues with, but the manager or assistant manger Amy said she could not take back the food and refused to do so. But what’s absurd was before I went into the store I called to see if I could return the food and explained to the employee on the phone my dog could not eat the food anymore, and how much I had left in the bag. The employee said bring it in, and when I brought it into the store Amy refused to take it back. I showed her on my cell phone call log I had just called the store before I came into return she didn’t care that I just spoke to an employee and told me I needed their name. Well that is crazy I shouldn’t have to need the employees name I spoke to inorder to return dog food, opened or used if my dog cannot eat it no matter how much is left in the bag.

And if I did need that employees named they should of mentioned it. It is also a store policy to take back dog food.

Also, I had a cart full of items I was going to buy from the store. Which I declined to purchase from the Oceanside store after dealing with Amy....

But thankful to Baldwin store they took back the food no issue or questions asked, and purchase everything I needed for...

One day I went to look for a Fish and as always you have to wait, but it is normal. The star is because they do not want to accept the price of the App or the Website, they simply told me we are not going to change the price. If they do it in another store, we don't care.

Update : I went to look for food for my birds, I was searching on the app and comparing if they had it on the shelf, then a rude girl who works there comes up to me and tells me that I can't touch the product, she tells me just look at it and take it. . Also, I bought something in the app to pick up here, they simply told me to wait until I receive the notification that we have the product in this store, when I already had it in my hands. Then I tell him that the product is there and he tells me "you don't understand, we don't have him. I left to never return to this disgusting place with...

The staff is friendly, but lacks knowledge. Expessialy in the fish section. I love this store, they have great iteams for good prices. But sadly the care of the animals is disgusting. I've never walked into a pet store and seen fish that look like skeletons, and the betta section is absolutely disgraceful. Every cup was filled with green algae and brown water. Every fish looks horrible and so many were either sick or dead. I asked them about the situation and they used a very poor excuse saying that their fish specialist isn't around enough. I know for a fact that it does not take a fish specialist to change a cup of water. I understand that it's a fish, but it's still living and it feels pain and suffers. They deserve as much attention as any of the other animals do. I hope they fix...
