They do not take off the tare (weight of the container) on any of their items that you buy there. If you are paying $11.98 per pound for an item, it is costing you a fraction of that $11.98 for the package and the packaging is supposed to be free. If you use the same exact size package for an item that is $5.98 per pound, then the package weight is based on that price. This is against the law and when it was brought to their attention, the guy behind the counter said "We don't take that off. That's how we've been doing it all these years I'm here." I love this place & the owner. So it’s really hard for me to say that I had a bad experience and will never get another sandwich made there. I will buy packed pasta and cold cuts or something from cold case. Sandwich had a black hair in it and my hair is blonde. I don’t know what the kitchen staff are doing but that’s gross. Do better with sanitation issues by training your staff and making sure they are keeping their hair covered and up. You lost me as a customer...

Pastosa is in my opinion the best of the best, Maria and Matt are extremely nice and experts at their craft. They know me by name and always remember my regular order of either cold cuts (which are always fresh and delicious) meat for my Sunday sauce. My kids love going there because they always give them a treat when they walk in. They catered my daughter’s birthday with hero’s and everything was phenomenal.
