Iāve seen my coworkers get food from this place and decided to try it because the food looked delicious. On my first visit, I got Chili Salmon which is priced at $17 (was charged 19.82 with tax) and I quite enjoyed it. So reluctantly when I craved the dish, I went for another visit only this time around, I was overcharged by a certain lady (different from my first visit) with $23.35! On top of that, when she was charging it at the register she put a different dish entirely (it said King Fish). Since I was in a rush, I didnāt want to argue because maybe business was slow that day.
I occasionally go to that place to buy food for my coworker when I go take a break from my shift and yet again this issue only occurs when that specific lady is working. Iāve gotten a chicken patty, beef patty, and a fruit punch and that usually costed around $7. A different employee was at the register but before putting in the prices in, she hesitated and gave a concerned look towards that same lady. All of a sudden it jumped up to about $9! This was when I drew the line and realized that something is certainly going on. I want to keep supporting this business because from the food that Iāve eaten, it was quite a good experience but I do not appreciate when that employee pulls a sneaky one on me. The other employees have treated me well and charged me the right prices when they are by themselves but the dishonesty just kills it for me. Iām not sure if it has to do with me being of a different race (Asian) and I certainly donāt want to think that is the reason but Iām not sure on what the possibility is of me being charged extra by that woman.
All in all, the food that Iāve tried had been decent which is honest on my part but I am certainly leaving this review just to show awareness. Yes the money taken from me isnāt a lot but itās the dishonesty that is keeping me away from that...

That said, I thoroughly enjoyed my āsmallā portion of curry chicken with rice and peas, which many other places would probably consider medium-sized. Priced reasonably at $14.39, including a bottle of water, it was great value. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked, while the rice and peas were expertly prepared, with just the right touch of coconut to bring out the traditional flavors.
The server, Alicia, was both polite and engaging, adding to the overall welcoming atmosphere. Iāll definitely be back next time Iām in the area.
My only suggestion is that they make it more obvious to passersby that this is a Jamaican restaurantāperhaps by adding more green, black, and yellow to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe two ladies that were there totally ignored me while they were involved in their own conversation. I Asked if there were any oxtails and the one woman looked at me like I was crazy and said, no oxtails now.. I asked if there would be any later and she again replied now with an attitude, no oxtails. While the other lady jumped in and told me I could come back in 30 minutes for oxtail. So obviously I was not someone she wanted to be bothered with. I don't know if it was my Caucasian skin complexion or she just really didn't want to be bothered. Regardless I never got to taste the food because after that I didn't want anything. It's not like they had a line out the door that they were so busy, there literally was no one at their booth. Not going back there again....
