Playa Bowls — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

This would have been my first time trying Playa Bowl. Unfortunately the attitude from 1 of the two associates who were on duty convinced me it wasn’t worth it. I go in today 3/2 and there’s a few customers including myself looking at the menu located on the opposite side of the register. Since neither of us really knew what we wanted I decided to watch one of the associates make a bowl. Since it looked good I asked the Hispanic associate who was preparing a bowl what it was he was making. . . With an attitude he said “a granola bowl” . . . I took a few seconds to look back to the menu and it looked like almost everything on the menu was granola included. So I asked again “you said granola bowl?” He said “yeah granola it’s on the menu right there” . . . 🤔 as I mentioned before the menu is ACROSS THE ROOM and what ever he pointed at obviously didn’t matter because in just TWO gestures I could tell TWO things. One: he’s not familiar with the product knowledge to properly suggest to NEW CUSTOMERS and two: he HATES HIS JOB. So I looked over to the black associate with squinted eyes as to say “what’s up with this guy?” I didn’t really get a response from him either but instead of causing a scene I simply said “y'all have a great day” and walked away. I usually don’t try a brand after a bad FIRST impression and I don’t see that changing. My advice to the associates. . . Fix your attitudes because no one chose the job for you.

Tony is the ABSOLUTE BEST!! He was my favorite person in the city when he was working there and I'm DRIVING to Cedarhurst just to see HIM and have a smoothie. The nyc location will be lost without him but I know he trained them SO WELL! This man deserves nothing but the VERY best!! Raises/bonuses/smiles/hugs/high fives etc. this is the type of person you want in your business!! He keeps customers coming back for more and it was honestly a blessing getting to see his smiling face every time I got my smoothie!! AND the team remembered my order by heart every single time!! You can't get that anywhere else!! Especially in a city filled with so many faces. I'm going to miss tony BUT I can't wait to see him again at this location!! Let me start saying I love playa bowls and I always love getting them at penn station nyc. Today I got excited to see a location in Lawrence ny. The person behind the counter was not nice, not saying hello he just moved his head like asking what I wanted... So, my friend and I ordered our smoothies. We paid and waited, this guy was rude to another lady before us and to the guy and his son after us. We hated the service and the flavor of our smoothies were horrible. I decided just to leave my drink by the garbage can and not even bother to try to talk to the mean person behind the counter then my friend hated his smoothie and throw it in the garbage outside ...
