Pollo Campero — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

I saw this restaurant open , but was very hesitant about entering the restaurant. I was unsure about the food. But today, one of my family member decided to buy take out from this restaurant, after tasting the food. I am quite surprised how delicious the food was. I particularly enjoy the grilled chicken. How flavorful it was, and juicy and tender fall off the bone meat. Add lime to it even more tasty. The corn salad is so healthy and delicious. It has all sorts of things mixed in it, pumpkin seeds, peppers, feta cheese..this is my first time eating yucas, Ate some Yuma fries. and it’s different. The fried chicken is also different, less salty than Popeyes. The fried chicken is also fall of the bone, juicy and tender. But not as flavorful as grilled chicken. May need a dipping sauce. So far I will be back for the grilled chicken and the corn salad. First timers will be surprised like I was. I haven’t eaten so much food, since I don’t remember. This place is delicious and different. I thank my family member for buying this chicken. You will too!

After going there 2 additional times from this , my suggestion is don’t come here. They overpriced their chicken. I went to order a meal and I was not offering a drink. They charged me 7 for it which was a side and chicken. The second time I wanted grilling chicken and they gave me fried. I had taken their survey to receive free chicken, just buy a side and drink. The side and drink cost me 5. 16 , wow! That price I can literally go to Popeyes for chicken for less and it includes a drink and side. This place needs better communication with its customer. I am in fear this place can’t stay open if things...

Fast food fried chicken chain that's popping up. They charge extra for white meat, which is fine for me, as I usually request all dark anyway. I got the fried, it was well seasoned, hot, and juicy. Got the mashed potatoes, which were ok but not great, (worse than KFC) I would try something else next time. The dinner roll feels like an after thought, like the kind you buy at a supermarket and you have to tear off. Feel like meal should come with two sides since drink is separate.

Props to the cashier for ignoring the jackass Doordash/Ubereats driver trying to cut the line to shove his phone in her face as she was trying to take my order. They also actually listened when requesting no napkins, no utensils. You'd be surprised how often that gets ignored.

I have first hand experience working in this restaurant and see the way things are run. They never grilled chicken ready. The dining room floors are always dirty until the night. Food safety isn't a concern some managers (Claudia) allow chicken that stayed out overnight to be cooked and served to customers the next day. Being bilingual myself, I noticed there is rarely any other English dominant speakers which shows that there is no diversity in the staff. I've had to deal with managers who instead of judging you on your work performance but whether or not they like you or not. Despite this I tried my best to do my part to make the restaurant run smoothly but I was forcefully fired from the place for no apparent reason because a manager who called me fat said I hurt her shoulder holding the door up against her...
