Last weekend I discovered this bakery on my walk. I initially assumed it was a wholesale bakery but I was curious and proceeded to check it out and when I walked in and instantly smelled the aroma of freshly baked bread I couldn’t resist even if I wanted to. The white, stale, overly dense, not 00 flour product they call italian bread is just offensive to anyone from the motherland or to anyone with good taste. I’m sure if you slather this with mayo and cold cuts, you won’t notice that you’re eating cardboard, but good bread is good on its own and this is certainly not. She said people were waiting in impressive lines . I believe it . I am not one for mediocre everyday bread and save my palate for this caliber .
I’m sure anyone near Lynbrook/Valley Stream NY already knows about Ray’s and doesn’t want 5 star reviews to let out this secret local gem.
