Cooper Electric — Local services in Town of Hempstead

There are usually trucks parked in front of the store so plan on parking on a side street. Store is clean and uncluttered with a parts counter behind which is a huge display of Milwaukee brand tools. Opposite the counter on the walls hang a large selection of electrical specialty tools and accessories. I've been there twice, and there were 2-3 guys who worked the counter.

I would not call the service warm and fuzzy. They were helpful in a cool sort of way with my project. They had to order a part I wanted from their supplier which came the next day, and they did call me and left a message that the part was in early in the morning. However, when I asked how one might install a particular product for a particular application the counterman did not know, which surprised me a bit.

I've found that overall, it's hit or miss with these trade specialty suppliers when you are a DIYer doing a project. For example, I've gone to one plumbing supply store a few times and the countermen are unhelpful and obnoxious. They saw the last of my business long ago. I found two other plumbing supply stores where the service is terrific. Cooper is middle of the road in terms of the interaction you get at the counter, in that it's adequate. They are certainly happy to look up parts and order them...

Worst experience I have getting my tool repair left for repair two tools pvc shear cutter and bandsaw in September 19 2022 took close to three months to fix after repeat calls to check where the tool is the sales rep Philip pretto the worst person to Deal with the tool was never send for repair after 30 days sitting in store store manager we are sorry the person forget fine okay then another 30 days still not here okay call after 20 days it's here went there I am sorry tool is not here the sales person not working today we have the wrong name on file when I have the slip with correct info it was like Tom and Jerry game finally one tool came in but one missing I ask them to get it back I need it waiting finally arrive in pieces very disappointing with service the customer service is horrible instead feeling bad they try to defend them self which is worst part finally I took the tool back today never coming back here for service worst experience I dealt with them previously with different employees and was very good got back the tool in time also unrepair tool comes back assemble highly not...
