Read moreGood Food. nice space. Decent beers. Servers try hard. Desserts disappoint. We were there on a very busy Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately, because of the way they run the house, your server is the only one who can help you. This means, if you are missing a fork (as we were) or would love for your water glass to be refilled (as we did) or needed an extra plate. You have to flag down your and only your server (who in our case, also had tables upstairs). The other servers just ignore you. This is unfortunate. Similarly unfortunate for a "family run place" is that our server (from the DR, so clearly not persian and not "family) who was super personable and trying really hard, never had the opportunity to connect us to any of the owners. I would have really enjoyed the experience to discuss some of the dishes with someone from Iran (or at least descended therein who is part of the family). Anyway, food is very good as most remark, nice portion size for the price. Desserts disappointed...
Read moreI was actually disappointed by the food and the service. I asked several times if they had included sumac with our take out order, they assured me they had but unfortunately there wasn't any... I wish they had been more welcoming and warm towards us, but they were quite nonchalant the entire time we were there.
Most of the staff looked like they didn't want to be there. Very few of them smiled or would engage with the guests.
The food itself didn't taste like authentic Persian food, nor can I say that the quality was anything special. Their prices are very high for a place that hasn't nailed proper Persian flavors.
I had been craving real Persian kabab kobideh for years, and I was left unimpressed and even bored with how bland the meat was. I asked for medium, and got rare.
None of their chefs are Persian, which is why I hope they get more training with Persian flavors.
It's not a place I...
