Notes for ownership in a helpful spirit: Ordered ham and cheddar quiche, which comes with salad. Was told they were out of ham & cheddar, so I said the other variety was fine, no problem. Well, they were out of that, too.
I asked if I could order just a side salad. No, it’s not on the menu. Ok, fair enough… So I asked if they could ring up the quiche that came with salad and sub scrambled eggs. Seemed simple? Nope.
I was told by a manager that “We are mainly a bakery so we can’t accommodate that substitution.”
Guys, you offer well over 50 non bakery menu items and I will not be the last person to request a simple substitution when you’re out of the original item in the first place.
All it would have taken was a quick walk back to tell the kitchen but she could not be bothered.
At this point, I’m feeling like a total inconvenience while I’m also holding up the long line I waited in. There are no helpful alternate suggestions from the staff, and I end up ordering something I didn’t even want as I succumb to impatient looks.
Here’s the real kicker… as I’m sitting in the dining room eating the dish I didn’t want, I see the kitchen bring out QUICHE and serve it to the woman next to me. I can’t make this up.
Perhaps there was no quiche immediately ready when I ordered, but I would have gladly waited the extra few minutes if I was offered the option!
I mentioned it to the same manager and it was just more excuses about communication with the kitchen. Respectfully, as a customer, I shouldn’t be hearing your operational excuses.
There were several opportunities to make this right. I know it’s just quiche, but a small bit of hospitality or just a tad of extra effort goes a long way.
What a glum first impression for a place I’ve really been looking...
Read moreIt always amazes me how people go for these big corporate-style bakeries that lack real quality. We visited Tatte hoping for a good breakfast, but it was a major disappointment.
We ordered the Shakshuka and the Mezze Breakfast Platter. The shakshuka tasted like canned tomatoes poured straight onto a plate—flavorless, and poorly balanced. The bread was unnecessarily heavy and unhealthy, and the eggs were clearly low-quality with pale yellow yolks that said it all.
The mezze platter wasn’t any better. The shishito peppers were cold and unpleasant, and the Jerusalem bagel was underbaked and doughy. Then came the coffee. The Pistachio Latte tasted like baby food—overly sweet and artificial. The Pumpkin Tahini Latte was another miss, with neither pumpkin spice nor tahini flavor coming through.
To make things worse, for a location that just opened, it was not clean at all. Both the mugs and plates were filthy, which is completely unacceptable for a place that prides itself on presentation.
Overall, this felt like McDonald’s-level food wrapped in expensive decor. They’ve clearly spent millions making the place look pretty, but there’s no attention to service, quality, or cleanliness. Definitely not...
Read moreI went today for the first time with my friend , sister and our two babies who are just under two years old . First when we walk in no one greets you so it’s very confusing we had to ask what to do and seat our selves which ok no problem. Then we went to order our food and my friend stayed with the two babies she’s sitting at the table and a worker sits right in front of her at our table and when we’re on the way back because she was in our seats my friend said to her very nicely someone is sitting there and she rolled her eyes and gave the biggest attitude says she was leaving but then sits right next to my sister it was very strange .. then we’re finishing up eating and this male worker comes over to us hovering over us telling us to remove these plastic table mats we brought for the babies to eat on saying it’s ruining the wood on the table and waited for us to remove it he was very RUDE. We were so caught off guard. It’s plastic it won’t ruin the wood on the table the table is fake wood. I will never be...
