I’m not one to post reviews but Via Cuma - Sourdough Pizza & Cucina deserves patronage. My wife and I decided to try this place after a few recommendations made in a Valley Stream Facebook group. We normally have to travel for a truly authentic and good Neapolitan Pizza - usually as far as New Haven, CT. But now we can find it here in Valley Stream! Via Cuma just opened about a week and a half ago with a soft opening menu and will have their full menu ready in a couple of weeks (their gluten free pizza base is still in the works).
Don’t get this confused for a typical New York pizza. Neopolitan pizza is the authentic stuff - the crust has a natural flavor, the ingredients are fresh and imported from Italy, and the pizza’s texture is more suitable for fork and knife compared to NY style - the pizza overall comes together as a harmony of flavors that compliment each other. And the passion and receptivity of the owners complement the overall experience.
So few places in Valley Stream have good food that I can write about in a recommendation. In my opinion, this place is a must in Valley Stream and is a very much needed welcome in my books. I can’t stress how much I highly recommend...
Read moreAbsolutely spectacular!! I had such a wonderful night with my husband for his birthday and was greeted by Ivan with his exceptional service and kindness. He took us on a tour of an Italy with the cuisine and educated us on Italian heritage and food, it was much more than what we could have imagined. The scene is beautiful and cozy with low lighting and very comfortable booth seating that wraps you in a feeling you cannot find elsewhere (especially around Valley Stream). You really feel like time slows down as you dig into the delicious foods. We ordered a Bufala E Fileto pizza and it was AMAZING (we ended up having 2!) the French fries were perfectly crispy and soft as well, and Ivan shared with us these delicious tomato based dipping sauces that were imported from Italy - these will blow your mind! We also shared a delicious dessert, Crème & Amarena, with their in-house espresso (this was so delicious and the warm notes of espresso filled the entire restaurant). Overall, we are thankful for the experience we had on this special day and thank you very much Ivan for making this night so...
Read moreNever been here before and I want a nice good Italian brick oven pizza so I call and I asked the gentleman on the phone if a personal pizza is big enough for two people tells me no very thin slices. OK there was three of us. He told me the regular size was good enough for two peopleso I went and purchased a personal margarita and a regular margarita almost $60. I get home. I open up the personal size. It’s cutting four pretty big slices that could’ve been cut in six. Open up the regular box 8 decent size slices me and my wife. My brother-in-law had a total of two slices each and felt very fulfilled afterwards so I feel that I was informed the pizza was OK very salty. The flavor was really not what I expected it to be it was very off Very oily. I don’t leave reviews. I come from a family who owned the pizzeria for over 30 years would I eat there again? Maybe I would try it maybe but overall I feel like I was kinda misinformed about the size of the pizza. A personal pizza for two people is definitely sufficient enough cause I couldn’t eat a...
