I've been a long time customer of Ancona's pizzeria. And I have always been more than satsatisfied , everything I've eaten there, or took out and ate at home! But I am upset because I just wasted $40 bucks on 2 hero sandwiches!! One was a Chicken Cutlet Parmigiana hero and the other was Shrimp Parmigiana. Shrimp Parm is usually breaded every time I I ordered it in the past. To make a long story short. It seemed like both heroes were just slopped together. The bread was wet and mushy. Ugh!!! Disgusting!!! I was not and could not eat it. Just a nasty slopped together sanwich! zI literally threw it in the garbage! Now my husbands sandwichwas barely My husband was so hungry also, I don't know how he managed to swallow it. But I could tell he wasn't happy! Again the bread was wet and mushy! So disappointed!!! I hope this was just an off day for them But the sandwich was so disgusting, I threw them in the garbage because the bread was wet and mushy the shrimp was boiled!!!! Believe me, I am not a picky personn when it comes to food ,I van eat anything! Listen, like I said I have always been loyal to Ancona's, and I usually never leave a bad review.l f I e anyone, But honestly, I do not have $40 to throw in the trash!!! I would have been happier staying home and warming up a can of soup!!! And I want the new owner to know what kind of food the cooks are slopping together. bottom line, if you want to be successful, you have to be consistent. cook for your customers, like your cooking for your family. I don't know if I will ever go back., which Is sad I live in this town. I hope you take my review serious, and talk to your cooks or assistants about taking the time to prepare food for your customers and not just sloppjng everything together like that! , no matters how busy you are !++❤️ I remain your longtime customer, but very disappointed....
Read moreI always used to love this place as a kid but the way I was treated in this establishment made me very upset and sad these couldn’t be the same gentlemen that greeted me with a smile every time I came in with my mother and sister 12+ years ago. Not the same ones that would go to our table and serve our food. This couldn’t be the same food we would eat here when I was younger. This couldn’t be the restaurant that used to be clean every time I stepped in. When I came to this establishment with my wife I was telling her all these stories about how I used to love this place as a kid and was very excited because she’s from the city and I told her this is the best New York slice in valley stream and she’ll feel right at home here. but when we got there, the restaurant was filthy and the employee who has worked there since I was a kid was very rude. He looked bothered by our presence and in the middle of me taking my order a regular walked in and he cut me off to have a conversation with her and took her order before me and I couldn’t believe it especially if there’s another lady present that’s not how a true gentleman runs his establishment. I had a chicken bacon ranch slice and hey I understand it’s chicken bacon ranch but the slice was drowned in ranch. I probably will never come back here again and rather hold on to the memories I have as a kid then have more experiences similar to my recent one. I do believe this is a race issue looking at other reviews and see how people that are minorities getting treated the same way. Everyone’s cash is green and we should all be treated equally. Very...
Read moreThe eggplant parmesan (Along with Momma's and my beautiful wife's) by which I judge ALL others... Truly, it's that phenomenal! I am an Italian food connoisseur, I have eaten in Italian restaurants from Rome to Kalamazoo! I will and have traveled hundreds of miles out of my way, to enjoy my Ancona's experience. I have to admit, part of my Love for this delightful little food Mecca, are the memories of me driving from NJ, to visit and take Grandma to our favorite food spot! Yes, Ancona's! Memories I truly cherish! With that said, Grandma was from the Guarantee side of the family, born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She is where I inherited my Love for delicious food. I Love and miss my beautiful Grandma and her home cooking, where she turned out gourmet meals from a kitchen the size of a small pantry. Ancona's is at that level. Truly Delicious food, that you willingly, happily will go out of your way for. A little hole in the wall restaurant, with the best Italian food outside of Italy... And Grandma's kitchen. I miss...
