First time trying this. The inside of the restaurant is very nice, clean, freshly painted, and bright. The tables and furniture is brand new and comfortable.
To order takeout, you use a digital display that was very easy to use. I ordered the Mala Spicy Soup and it was nice and spicy. The only thing I think it lacked was the numbing sensation of sichuan peppercorns that I'm used to with Mala. It had a very nice taste though.
The to-go containers are amazing and thoughtful. They have layers. On the bottom is the liquid and everything that goes into the broth. Then above that is a compartment with the noodles and whatever protein or extra things you added to the dish. That way when you get home, the noodles haven't soaked up all the delicious sauce.
I will definitely be back to try more dishes. I am very very happy about this is a new spot for our family to dine. And I love that they respond to people's reviews online. It shows that they truly care about making things right for their customers.
See you...
Read moreIt was cool with how we can order online as a table with different names; this is a great accessibility thing for deaf folks. As for the food, I chose Tonkotsu ramen, which didn't taste awful but it's quite bland which is not what you expect out of a Tonkotsu ramen. For other noodles, they had an optional spicy addition so I added that to mine and it is a bit more acceptable. However, the egg and pork belly does not come with the ramen and require additional payment which goes up to 18 dollars. Sadly, the egg was not particularly flavorful though ample (4 in total). Similarlly, the pork belly was too chewy. Hence for this particular ramen it is strongly unrecommended. However, this restaurant seems to be stronger with its Chinese cuisines., and other Chinese people do recommend it strongly for its other foods. From small tastings, they do taste decent so I will need to go back to try the other ones, until then, I will reserve a total...
Read moreFirst off, service was amazing. Super prompt and super personable. Our waitress stayed on top of clearing plates and keeping drinks topped off throughout the whole time.
But the food and atmosphere did not match the level of service. Visually the place was amazing, but it was so bright and the music was really fast paced pop that you didn’t want to sit and relax there. The ramen, which my fiancé and I were both looking forward to, was standard microwave ramen level noodles, with an egg and some meat tossed in and a couple vegetables. It gave off “college kid trying to be fancy” vibes. I got the steamed pork buns and my fiancé got the shrimp shumai, and while the presentation was great with the steam baskets, they were still both standard grab from a freezer and cook type of fare.
Unfortunately, not a place I would really recommend, but the price point is geared more towards highschool and college budgets, so...
