We came here for weekday lunch. Our server Emily was amazing! She was exceptionally personable and communicated with us about delays in the kitchen since the restaurant was serving a large party. She continued to check up on us and was very sweet. Eggplant rollatini and cheesy garlic bread were delicious appetizers. For entrees, we had the penne alla vodka (portion was a bit smaller than expected) as well as the chicken marsala, chicken parm, and arugula pie, which were all good. This place is a bit pricy but it is an upper/mid range Italian restaurant. The actual dining area is cozy and intimate. They have a cute bar area upon walking in. Parking lot is a bit cramped but doable. We had a great time!

Could not have asked for a better dining experience! Food was very tasty and had great service from all the staff. The staff make you feel like family from the moment you walk through the front door. Decided to try the Burrata and Combo Della Casa (lasagna, eggplant rollatini and meatballs). Both were on the Specials Menu for the night and were absolutely delicious. Portion sizes were great, so had leftovers for lunch the next day. Value for price is very good and could have easily shared both. The restaurant is very clean, comfortable and cozy. Thanks to Nick, Frankie and Giovanni for a great dining experience. Can’t wait to go back for another fantastic meal spent with “family.”

Overall, a very positive experience. Scallops are my weakness, and they were wonderful (with vegetables instead of pasta was a welcome option.) The traditional tortufo was spot on. Although crowded, conversation was possible. However, having to disturb a diner at another table to make an entrance or exit is a bit too close. Service was a bit slow, but that may have been due more to kitchen backlog than any failing of the wait staff. It actually made for a more relaxed meal.

Had a horrible experience at Sal D’s. We made a reservation for my nephew’s birthday celebration for 6 people. My nephew was looking forward to eating there again. One of our group got sick and we called the restaurant as a courtesy to let them know we would be 5 people and was told they only make reservations for 6 people or more. I know we responded but we were 6 people until a few minutes ago and we had this reservation for a week. We were told to just show up. We arrived 15 minutes early at 5:45 pm only to be told they gave away our reservation and it would be a minimum of an hour’s wait. The host seemed to be happy about it restating their reservation policy. Even more insulting they gave it away for a party of 4 people. I pointed out that we were regulars eating there at least once per week but don’t expect to see us there anytime in the future. We left. Not a good way to treat any of your customers never mind one of your...

There is currently a person waging war to get Sal D's negative reviews because another customer (not the restaurant) screwed up big time and she doesn't feel the restaurant took enough care of it to make it right. (there are counter opinions showing Sal D's comped her bill and tried to help). Regardless of the circumstances, she's asking everyone to try to crush this long-time family favorite and Huntington-area restaurant staple because she doesn't feel she got what she wanted. The food is wonderful, there is a reason Sal D's is packed night after night, and the customers are loving and loyal. While bad experiences happen and should be fixed, using social media and site reviews to try to attack a business is never OK--especially a small, family-owned business that has been an upstanding member of the community. Please keep that in mind when reading reviews--Sal D's is a great place worthy of...

Frankly this restaurant has slipped in quality. Sal D's has been favorite spot of ours for many years. Food was okay this time, but I've enjoyed considerably better from here in the past (last visit was 8 mo ago) service was genuinely poor. A first for this restaurant- I'm from out of town and a truly easy customer to please. Cocktails were just gastly. Very poorly made and delivered in completely incorrect- and ever changing glass wear with each order. A gin martini on the rocks in a stemless water glass!? Seriously?! Finally the service from the kitchen was VERY slow. I know Huntington well enough to know folks here won't tolerate a sub-par restaurant experience. We were a party of four with a 6pm reservation on a Friday. Restaurant was not busy when we arrived. Anyone in this biz knows its all hands on deck on a Friday in Huntington. This time Sal D's was caught completely...
