Spuntino Dix Hills — Restaurant in Town of Huntington

The only thing I can give a review on is service since I didn’t even have a chance to sit down and eat. I have never spoken badly about any restaurant, or went out of my way to write a bad review, but what I just encountered was atrocious. I went there tonight to inquire about a party and have some dinner. I walked in ask asked the gentleman behind the counter if there was anyone available to speak to about hosting a private party. He pointed over to an older guy in a white shirt. I walked over to him and he was on his cell phone so it took a minute to be acknowledged, which really wasn’t even a big deal to me but just to set the tone for how underwhelming busy they were. When he looked up I asked if I could get some information on a private party. He was noticeably aggravated that I’d have the audacity to ask and very rudely let me know that I shouldn’t have come in during dinner time, as to which I looked around and saw MAYBE two tables sitting down. It was 8PM on a Monday night and if you have enough free time to be on your phone I’d think you’d have some time to give me information on an event. I said “okay I’m sorry” and went to walk away, to which he shouted “what do you want” and I just continued to walk out the door with my husband and son. Even my husband, who usually is the first to tell me if I’m overreacting, was like “what was that all about?”. I won’t be giving them a penny, let alone stepping foot into that restaurant again. Literally the rudest experience I’ve ever had in my life with someone in the industry. Very disappointing since I received many recommendations for this place on the Long Island Foodies...

A nurse at the ophthalmalogist office in Huntington recommended Spuntino today. What a wonderful referral!!! From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the hostess who before she reached for the menus, asked us how we were and waited for a response. Once we responded, she escorted us to our table. Next our server welcomes us, introduced himself, gave us menus and asked for our drink orders. After our drinks were served, he answered a few questions about the menu and took our appetizer order. The bus boy server brought us delicious, fresh bread and butter. I motioned to our server that we were ready to order dinner. We were done with our appetizer when the bus boy server asked if he could pack the leftovers. When our dinner was served, there were no sausages as requested, but my wife was satisfied without them regardless. However the lead server was passing by our table and overhead our conversation and intervened, assuring my wife the sausages order will be over shortly, and it was. Once we were finished with our meal, the bus boy server came by to package our leftovers. We ordered dessert and coffee and once done, another employee came by to ask about our dining experience. Absolutely Horrible – Burnt Pizza, Rude Service, and a Waste of Time!

I had one of the worst dining experiences at this place, and I will never be coming back. After waiting an entire hour for my food, I was served a pizza that was completely burnt and dry. It was so overcooked that it was practically inedible. When I politely brought it to the server’s attention, expecting at least an apology or an offer to fix it, she just shrugged and told me, “It comes like that.” Excuse me? Since when is burnt, dried-out pizza the standard? That response alone showed me they clearly don’t care about their food or their customers.

On top of the awful food, the customer service was just as bad. The woman serving me was incredibly rude, barely acknowledged me, and acted like I was a burden just for being there. She had a terrible attitude the entire time, and when it came time to pay, she stood there clearly expecting a big tip. When I didn’t tip her for her horrible service, she shot me a nasty look, as if I was the problem.

Between the long wait, the disgusting food, and the unprofessional attitude of the staff, this place is an absolute joke. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Save your money and go somewhere that actually values its customers and knows how to make a...
