The food was served room temp , not even warm. Place was empty so no reason for that. Tastless, bland and overpriced . I dont tink the itemss were cooked fresh to order , seemd to be reheated. We did try the Gulpi, flet it was missing taste , my girlfriend makes way better Gulpi! . To top it all off, the food made me sick that entire evening. For what they charge it should be spot on! Was not impressed and will not be returning
Update...Unfortunatley it appears the owner did not see our experience in the same light as indicated by the response below.
You have a very colorway with words . You spent a few minutes answering a few questions, last I checked that is part of providing a quality customer serivce. I tried not to get into so much detail about your establishment in MY review, but rather sum to it up, again in MY opinion . I too could disect your response and engage with details under a microscope but that would only make you look as if your not finding any validity in, again MY review and MY opinion of MY experience, but rather to suit your opinion . It would do you good professionaly to accept feedback from your patrons weather you agree or not and look to find a way to bring them back . This does not seem to be most important to you and clearly not your mission. Patrons should not have to say anything, it is not thier reponsiblity at the time of dining. Most patrons will agree there are some cases people are not always comfortable sending food back or making complaints when they are dining with others who may feel less likely. If resturants got it right the first time then there would be no need for a patrons to leave any reviews for any places! The increasing costs of dining out is becoming a strain so when people select a nice place to dine , that resturant is now expected to be paid , therfore as patrons we expect our experiece should be recipricated in the quality of the food/service, without having to send things back or complain. We did eat our food becuase we were hungry and we paid for it. I never said it was not edible. I stated it was cold, tastless and overpriced. In MY opinion it was . I am sorry that you dont agree. We did sit and chat for a bit but that had absolutely nothing to do with our meal, we were simply enjoing one anothers company. My judgement is always pretty fair and just , and now after your reponse I know I was spot on in saying I would not return, clearly you cant appriciate another perspective of a review about your establishment That said , I prefer to leave you with your own review of youself. Wishing you many more years of success...
Read moreMy family and I have been coming to Kabul Restaurant in Huntington for over 25 years. I can't say enough about how much we love the food and the service here. For over 20 years I haven't had one less than wonderful experience on my visit there. We are a large family and have all grown up on this food. Now we bring our children to this wonderful place continuing our traditions. We have used Kabul for catering birthdays, graduations and my wedding. This is small family operated restaurant, the family is beyond welcoming and warm every time we visit. They truly are such gracious folks and their staff has been there since we've been visiting keeping up with the consistency in food and service. And I love the decor, they have pieces which the owners brought into the US from Afghanistan to make you feel like you are in a special place. At this point it's like coming home when we see them as they have been apart of all our special moments including getting old. I have moved out of Long Island but my family and I drive out to Huntington to visit Kabul once a week for my Afghan Food fix. Ive tried other Afghan restaurants but nothing has come close to how delicious their food is. And you must order desert and their highly addictive delicious...
Read moreWhere do I begin? I used to come to this restaurant every week when I worked out in Huntington. I moved away and last night tried this place again years later, driving a while to get here. Why do you ask? Because I have craved and missed my little friends, the tender chunks of lamb under the bed of Qabili Palow rice. In all my travels and different Afghan restaurants I've been to all my years, I never had such great and tender pieces of lamb, morsels that flake and melt in your mouth.
Yesterday, me and a friend had dinner there. We were starving, so we ordered three entrees between the two of us and a few extra appetizers (don't judge us, we were fasting all day). I heard my little friends call me from the menu, oh how I missed thee. Obviously you can tell what I ordered, the Qabili Palaw. It was just as I remembered, amazed at the consistency of this place. It's never off, always tastes the same.
My Friend had a chicken dish, and the sultani entrée who split between us. We also ordered the pakora and potato bolaneen also, which were both really good. The sultani kabobs served on the skewers reminds me of the motherland, tender and seasoned perfectly.
I will probably go back this weekend...
