The Only Thing Getting Served Here Is Disinfectant so we walk into Bill Gray’s in Irondequoit, thinking, hey, let’s grab some ice cream—it’s simple, right? apparently not. we stood there, right in front of the guy behind the counter, for ten full minutes while he sprayed cleaning chemicals like he was prepping for a biohazard inspection. not once did he look up or acknowledge us. maybe we missed the sign that said “now offering invisible customer service.” meanwhile, two other employees strolled around like it was their living room. phones out, zero interest in doing anything related to, you know, work. not even a “hey we’re closing soon” or “we’ll be with you in a minute.” just a lot of walking and ignoring and pretending like customers aren’t a thing anymore. finally, chemical-spraying AirPod guy looks up like we’d just appeared out of thin air and goes, “oh… you wanted food?” no, my guy, we didn’t walk up to the ICE CREAM COUNTER to order a steak dinner. i say “we wanted ice cream,” and he laughs. takes one AirPod out like i was interrupting his concert and gives me a solid “what?” like i’m the one being weird. he dragged himself to the register with the energy of a sloth on vacation, still laughing, still acting like we ruined his night. at that point we were like, nah, we’re good, and turned to leave. THEN he decides to act like he suddenly cares: “oh really? you don’t want ice cream? are you sure?” yeah. i’m sure. i don’t trust anything coming from behind a chemical-sprayed counter with that much attitude attached. note to anyone reading this: don’t go within 20 minutes of closing unless you’re prepared to be ignored, laughed at, and possibly have cleaning chemicals sprayed in the general vicinity of your food. you’re better off getting a popsicle from the gas station. at least the freezer door says hi when...
Read moreI only come in for the Abbot's ice cream. I really enjoyed the conveniency of this location versus driving all the way to Charlotte beach to get Abbots ice cream. But the customer service has consistently been slow. They don't seem to really care about the customers or doing a quick job about it either. I've lived in the areas for the past 5 years and it hasn't changed and now with COVID and social distancing regulation they seem worse. Even though it always look fully staffed there. Enough staff to have someone come out to clean the table. I really don't understand why it take 5 minutes to get ice cream. I've worked at plenty of Customer service jobs including being a Kitchen manager taking care of online orders, looks orders, drive-thru, and in-store order. Customer service really needs to improved because it's just sad. Better management and training would supply these young ones with...
Read moreOrdered for 1st time from this "designated location" thru on line ordering with GRUBHUB. Wings dry & burger def WASN'T anything to rave about, NO FLAVOR. Unlike how it's always prepared when I order from Bill Greys (Henrietta) "in person" for many years, which is usually pretty good. It's as though both were simply "thrown together?!" Mind you, it was ordered on a Sunday night where it's not supposed to be busy🤔 Additionally, FOOD DELIVERED WITHOUT napkins or utensils requested + BAG along with CONTAINERS were NOT SEALED. Extremely tacky as it relates to food safety concerns. Especially considering these restaurants charge "service fees" for delivery. So WHERE'S the real SERVICE? I def will NOT be ordering from THIS location (again) as apparently they DON'T value customers when it comes to food delivery. When one orders in person or delivery, QUALITY of food AND service SHOULD consistently...
