Audrey's Fine Baked Goods — Restaurant in Town of Islip

I am seeing an ongoing theme within the last few months and now I am not surprised of my own situation and latest encounter. I have been a customer of Audrey's for the past 20 years and have spent thousands on pastries and cakes through the years. I went in to order a 1/4 sheet birthday cake last Wednesday for Saturday. I was told they can not accommodate. No let me ask, just no you can only have an 8 inch pre-made. I left disgusted and disappointed. I then called Stanley's bakery and was told not a problem, I asked do I have to come down, Nope. Cake was ready on Saturday, and I was happily greeted and treated like they appreciate my business. Cake was terrific BTW. I emailed one of the contacts I had previously ordered an elaborate Audrey's Cake from expressing my disappointment asking to pass the message on to the powers that be. I never received a response. No apologies or even an excuse. Nada. Audrey's just lost a long term customer and Stanley's just earned one. I will travel the extra 10 minutes to order from them. Will I order bread from them (if they have) on my way home. Maybe. However they will never receive another Cake or pastries...

The Vineyards at Aquebogue allows you to choose between Audrey’s and The Rolling Pin. We did cake tastings at both but Audrey’s tasted the best (not overly sweet) and was in person. The Rolling Pin seemed more in personal (take the cupcakes home) and was overly sweet and I love sweets! Our cake came out sooo great and flawless looking! We were bummed though a as we had to pay extra for cannoli filling with chocolate chips and most of our guests out of about 125 did not get any chips in their cannoli cake filling and we had left overs which noticed the sage thing. We did call them today and they offered to send us a gift card for a free anniversary cake. It was a kind of them but unfortunately that didn’t change what happened for the wedding. We will still frequent there but definitely make sure to tell them to have more chips in the cannoli. They did a great job decorating our cake and were very accommodating! We got the greenery (olive branches and dropped off 2 days before our wedding & they decorated it! I’ll post better pics once we get them back from...

This was my third time ordering from this place and sadly the last time . I ordered a disney car cake for my sons birthday that was chocolate chip with buttercream filling. I have to say the presentation itself was beautiful BUT once we cut the cake : I was embarrassed. There was more buttercream than the yellow cake with chocolate chip. All I saw was my guests making faces because its was too sweet ( too much buttercream ). Most of the cake went to the garbage which was disappointing. For $110 I surely got duped. The girl behind the counter that her name starts with a B ( I dont want her whole name out there )not very unhelpful. If a customer comes to the bakery and asks for a cake dont you think a breakdown of the price is helpful vs Cake is $110 how would you like to pay with an attitude. Like I said I've had couple of cakes done by them. First one was snoopy and the taste was bad.
