Friendly's — Restaurant in Town of Islip

First (and definitely last) time going to the Sayville Friendly’s. We usually go to the Coram location where Monica is amazing, so we expected a similar experience. This visit was a mess from start to finish. We waited about 15 minutes just to be greeted at our table for a drink order.. and if you know this location, it’s tiny. No excuse for that kind of delay. After that, it took another 30 minutes just to get drinks. We ordered two coffees and both came out room temperature. Sent them back, and waited another 15 minutes for fresh ones. When the appetizers finally came out, it was another 30 min wait for our meals. The food wasn’t hot, the bread was stale, and the place was loud and chaotic with screaming kids(teens) It felt more like a school cafeteria than a restaurant… we couldn’t even hear ourselves talk. Our server seemed new and was trying, so we didn’t want to give him a hard time. But when we brought up our experience to the manager at the front, he was rude, dismissive, and didn’t even apologize. The server tried to say something and the manager cut him off and said “don’t bother.” Completely unacceptable behavior from management all around. We definitely won’t be back to this location. I ordered mr beast burger with my friend (made by friendlys in sayville) We got two beast burgers and two mr beast fries. When it arrived at the door I got one burger and one fry. So we went to the store and asked to get the full order. They were nice about it and started making it right away. Once I get the bag I notice that there are only three items. I bring it back and say I need all four items. We needed another fry. So they give me the other fry and it wound up being in a much smaller box. I said why is it so small and he said “it’s all the same portion size, she must of just put it in the wrong box. Already frustrated I just say whatever and walk out with the food. We get home and realize the smaller box was just regular seasoned fries and not mr beast fries. So they did the order wrong a total of three times and never got it right. Something as simple as two mr beast burgers and two fries. Really disappointed. Not only did I Uber eat and get the wrong order but I go straight to the source and still get the wrong order. Personally, I am a huge fan of Friendly’s food and ice cream. But my grandma and myself arrived at 6:05. It is now 6:50 and nothing has been served besides our two cokes. The waitress (who was very nice) told us that there is no real chef in the back on a Saturday night and she also said that she wasn’t supposed to be in tonight but she said that she should be because without her, there would only be two servers. I’m not sure if you know, but Friendly’s gets very busy on Saturday nights. There should be at least two chefs, three servers, and two people at the ice cream window who can be servers if there is no one at the window. My grandma ordered the fishamijig sandwich, and I ordered chicken tenders. I have been here where that is out in about 10 minutes. But 45 MINUTES!! Very disappointed in the management.
