Extremely Disappointed with Unreliable and Inadequate Service
I am writing this review after an utterly frustrating and disappointing experience with Stop&Shop's online delivery service.
I placed an initial order to be delivered to Fire Island Pines for a Thursday, and to my dismay, the order was cancelled at the last minute with no communication or reason provided. I was left completely in the dark, and only discovered the cancellation upon realizing the order had not arrived.
Undeterred, I rescheduled the order for delivery on the following day, only to face the same unexplained, silent cancellation. Again, there was a conspicuous absence of communication or explanation from the store. The total disregard for customer service was shocking.
To compound the frustration, I reached out to their customer service line to seek clarification and hopefully a resolution. After enduring a 35-minute hold time, they simply hung up on me, denying me the courtesy of an explanation or apology for their failings. This kind of service, or rather lack of, is completely unacceptable.
My experience with Stop&Shop has been a lesson in unreliability. Not only did they fail to deliver the goods as promised on two separate occasions, but they also failed to deliver basic customer service. It is my belief that such a service-oriented business should prioritize communication and reliability, both of which were glaringly absent in my experience.
This ordeal has left me extremely frustrated, and I would strongly advise others to consider alternative options for their grocery needs. The lack of communication, poor customer service, and utter unreliability is unacceptable for a company of Stop&Shop's stature and reputation.
Until they improve their communication and reliability, I cannot, in good faith, recommend their services to others. The experience has left me completely dissatisfied and I will be seeking more reliable alternatives for my future grocery needs.
If you value communication, reliability and basic respect as a customer, I would recommend you look elsewhere for your online...
Read moreThe staff at this stop and shop were amazing yesterday during an emergency situation regarding my 7 week old daughter. I had just gotten a new vehicle, I did not know the keys could be locked inside of it because my old car wouldn’t lock with the key inside. I am 7 weeks postpartum, went on a quick shop for milk & bread. By the end of our shop, my daughter became fussy which as a mom had me anxious. I started to frantically rush out of the store to our vehicle. I got her in the car, threw the bags in and went to open the driver door. It was locked. I started trying all the doors, the trunk, couldn’t open it. I locked the keys in the car with my newborn screaming in the back seat. I was pacing around the car, hysterically crying and screaming my baby is in this car and I can’t get her! She was screaming and it was a warm, sunny day. I was panicking. A staff member named Allan immediately flew into action and helped me try to open the vehicle, call 911, monitor my daughters state while she was locked inside the car. He was so sweet and he was most certainly the reason I could even think straight in that situation because I am struggling with postpartum anxiety. He stayed by our side even while the police were there. He stayed until the police had successfully unlocked my vehicle and got my daughter to safety. He stayed until he knew we were okay. Thank you Allan, you really made such a difference in this terrifying situation for me and I won’t forget that act of kindness. The rest of the staff were also amazing, I wish I got their names. A woman who brought me a bottle of water to help me relax, she was so sweet. Many good samaritans at this stop & shop. I like to shop where I know I am safe and there are good people around me. That’s why this stop & shop gets 5 stars from me. Thank you all...
Read moreSayville Stop & Shop is a decent location considering it’s dated I have no issues with the store itself. I’m also not one to leave a negative review however it’s not the first time this has happened to me at this location. If you check online right here on Google it says the store is “OPEN UNTIL 10pm and it’s Saturday night. Some people have extremely busy days and are limited to the amount of free time they have especially a small business owner like myself. If your store hours on your front door say open until 10pm and online says your open until 10pm on Google, and on your website than why is more than once today 9:50 another time was 9:40 something and you arrive rushing to grab something but can’t because every single door is locked….. That indicates that you’re not open until 10pm because open means you can go inside!! You should change your hours to last sale at 9:30 if you “need everyone out of the store so you can close” like I was told when just called and that ball was placed at 9:53 after driving up to both sets of doors and getting out and running in the rain to find out it’s before 10pm and you’re closed.. Plus whoever answered the phone “yeah we’re closed ok, well cuz we need everyone out of the store.. Arite we good? Arite? Ok” with a slight arrogance to his tone. If you record calls play back the one on 02/15/2025 at 9:53pm you’ll see what I mean. I’ll start going to the one on Sunrise it’s bigger cleaner nicer and I bet they aren’t as crazy with running their customers out the door so they can close on the dot at 10 the customers that keep establishments doors open!!!!! Oh wait that’s right the doors weren’t open ….. and...
