Ice Palace — Restaurant in Town of Islip

Stay away. Worst experience I’ve ever had ordering food anywhere. Man behind the counter followed me into the parking lot yelling while I was trying to leave in front of my 2 year old.

I ordered an ice and a smoothie and noticed it was cash only, the elderly gray haired man behind the counter tells me to go to the 7/11 to use the atm which I did, and it was out of service. Come back and explain, offer to pay via debit, zelle, venmo, etc which he refuses, then go to scrounge up some cash from the car but can only purchase the ice, explain that I’m only taking the ice and the elderly gray haired man behind the counter starts screaming at me. Apologize again that I missed the cash only sign and explain I will pay for the ice but I can’t take the smoothie. Man demands I leave behind personal property and drive to a bank or he’ll call the cops on me. At this point I’m uncomfortable with how the man is behaving and I’m with my two year old so I tell him I need to leave and return to my car. He follows me into the parking lot, approaching me and my car and yelling and threatening me, yells at me to “go back to my country”. All...

As many have reviewed 1 star as well— I walked up the very unpleasant man behind the counter didn't say hi or anything except cash only. I didn't know so l only had enough cash on me to get my son a small. I also had my two year old with me and asked the man if I could have an extra cup so they can split the one l buy. He refused so l explained that my two year is a baby he just wants his own but won't eat a full one.

He basically screamed no at me. My kids left crying and as we’re walking to the car he’s yelling at me going on and on. We went to Ralph's and the kind woman was more than happy to give me multiple extra cups and spoons and they gladly accept credit cards.

A very charming shop. In town for work and decided to go for a treat. Banana cream ice and peanut butter and jelly ice were the best I’ve had. I’m a stickler with banana flavored items and it is most definitely made with fresh bananas without any artificial flavors or colors. The owner was very pleasant and answered all of our questions.
