Let me start off by saying that this place is much better when you dine in. We have eaten here numerous times and it has always been good. Tonight was the first time we ordered catering. It will also be the last time we order catering from Mannino's. When I arrived to pick up the Superbowl catering special this evening, I was greeted by a snooty woman who was less than accommodating. No smile. No welcome. Nothing. She asked my name and told me that my order wasn't ready yet. I placed the order a week ago. I asked how much longer as we had company already at my house. She said about 10 minutes. I asked where I should wait as the parking lot was packed and it was snowing. She gave me an annoyed look and said I could wait by the bar (no drink offered) or outside. I opted for outside. When I went back in, she told me it was ready and put two large boxes in my arms. They were heavy and I couldn't even open the 2 doors to get out. Thankfully, A nice bus girl saw me struggling and helped me. I got home and opened the food to find something that didn't resemble any Rigatoni a la vodka I've ever had. We all said it tasted like beef stroganoff. There was a ton of ground beef in it and the sauce which wasn't much, was not vodka sauce. The sauce on the chicken parm which we have had at the restaurant, was way too sweet. Our company asked us what I had ordered. They were surprised when I told them where it was from. I am very disappointed. It was over $200 and we ended up throwing out more than we ate. There are many places to choose from when ordering catering. People remember how they are treated. A smile goes a long way. Common courtesy goes a long way. I will pass on ordering catering...
Read moreThis is a perennial favorite restaurant for my lady. I share her equanimity. This what I would describe as a moderately upscale restaurant. On a scale of four chef hats, they get three for cuisine. Same scale, The 21 Club in Manhattan is a four and a premier, expensive restaurant. You may be fortunate to get a table. At Mannino' there are no pretensions. Call them when you wish to dine and ask if reservations are recommended. On the Google scale, I start with five and then deduct for inferior quality, service, cleanliness, and value. No deductions for this fine dinner spot. I like the relaxed atmosphere and attentive waitstaff. No dirty utensils were found. There were unspotted water glasses on the table. The water had no odd taste. Food was excellent and nicely seasoned and the noise level low enough so you can carry on a normal conversation. When paying the bill without looking at the American Express folder# my waiter did not ask me if I wanted change. He received a nice tip just for this one considerate decision. Some waitstaff at other venues will mindlessly ask that forbidden question. "Do you want change?" Ask me that and your 20% intended tip plummets to 10%, no matter how good the food is. For all the right reasons Mannino's earns my respect, my continued patronage, and high marks. But there's more. Rest rooms. There pit stops werr admirably maintained. A dirty rest room is often an indicator for a dirty kitchen and God knows what goes into your food.
Manninos is outstanding for an affordable, quality establishment. Six Stars. I am sorry my hands are tied to the Google rating system. You get Five Stars an thank you for the memorable time at...
Read moreI am being generous to offer 2 stars as my experience at this restaurant doesn’t deserve it. I had a meal of veal and shrimp that was okay but had a very strange taste. I didn’t think the food was spoiled but I did take some home and then decided that it upset my stomach and threw it away. My wife also had a veal francaise dinner and was sick all nite. The icing on the cake was when I tried to use a Foodie card. I checked on google and it said that this restaurant Mannino’s accepted the Foodie Card. I gave it to the waitress and she checked and said we don’t take this card. I told her that I felt that was a mistake since I checked it before I came. Then the manager came back and literally threw the card on the table next to me and said we don’t accept this. That is the most unprofessional experience I have ever encountered. We had recommendations from several friends that this was a good restaurant and I was less than impressed with the service and the food. I never once complained with the waitress about the food or was adamant about them not accepting my Foodie card. I accepted the circumstances as I am not a person to make a scene but I wanted my experience to be know to the owners of this restaurant. The manager, on Sunday nite 8/17/25, was outright rude. I had a reservation and was with 6 people and this is an embarrassment to you. This will be spread as much as I can to all my friends...
