We were in town for a lacrosse tournament and we heard that the biscotti brothers cafe was good and close to where we were staying. We had a little time before heading to our tournament so we were debating on either taking out or dining in. The hostess assured us that we would be out of there within 45 minutes which made our decision to stay. We made sure our waiter was aware of what was told to us and our time restriction. The waiter didn’t take us seriously and giggled. We were now 45 minutes into not receiving any meal so we brought it to our waiters attention. Five minutes later, four of us finally received our meal, while three of us hadn’t. As the waiter walked backed into the kitchen, we were waiting for him to walk right back out and give the remaining food to our table. Ten minutes had past and our four were almost done with their food while the remaining still hadn’t received their meal. We were now worried that weren’t going make it in time to the lacrosse fields. We asked to speak to a manger. The manager was made aware of our conversation with the hostess and our time restriction, as well as the delay between meals within our group. His appearance looked unprofessional as his response fit it! He asked us who told us that we would be out of there within 45 minutes as he will be “firing” that person today! He offered no other solution and / or no apology! I am appalled by his remark about firing one of his staff members in public, as well embarrassed for him. Finally, two of us received our meal while one still hadn’t. Out of the two, the bun was not fresh and was inedible. When I told the waiter and showed how dry the bun was, his response was “that’s just the inside”, not, “I’m sorry for the wait, or how about, I’m sorry about the bun.” And, not once did he come over to see if we needed any drink refills, or anything. In conclusion, our last person never received her meal as we had to leave, they never gave us an apology, a discount or anything. They were sure to not forget to add the 18% gratuity into the check. As an owner, I would be very concerned about the service provided and extremely concerned with the management. I would NEVER recommend this place nor would I...
Read moreWent here twice, yesterday and today. Both times we had breakfast. Food is ok. Wife really liked the crepes. They are currently short-handed on staff due to covid related issues, which is totally understandable. Both times we went, we got seated right away (in the tent outside). However, the waitstaff never came to check on us or provide us with drinks. Yesterday, one table got seated and served by a waitress while we sat there, eventually I had to flag a waitress down and request a waitress help us. Today, 4 tables got seated after us, and got served before us. Again I had to flag an employee down and request a waitress for our table. This is not an issue due to employee shortages, this is an issue due to logistics and managers.
Additionally, as I am writing this review, a medical emergency occurred. I happen to be a physician, so I attended to the customer, who was sitting a couple of tables away from me when the medical event occurred. EMS was called and brought the patient to the hospital. Later, I asked the manager if she knew that there was an ambulance in her parking lot or if she was aware of the medical emergency that happened. I hadn't seen her during it, although I was focused on the patient, so I could've missed her. Her response was "well of course", with the slightest undertones of arrogance. Surprising, since I hadn't seen her at all. And the manager or other employees did not thank me for attending to their customer, even as they seemingly ignored him (to be fair, a couple employees did come out and offer a rolled up piece of clothing to be used as a pillow for the patient).
TL;DR: decent food, horrible logistics among employees (be prepared to have multiple other tables seated after you and served before you), and maybe most importantly, managers that don't seem to care about the well being of their customers. I'd recommend...
Read moreI was looking forward to this place and it was a huge disappointment. For my hispanic and people of color please be ware, there was a slight racist feel for the following things I will describe below 👇🏼: We weren’t greeted and no intro from our waiter. The benefit of the doubt was given so we disregarded this until we saw the waiter introducing themself and being friendly to a table that arrived after us.
We waited 15-20 minutes for our order to be taken and that was me asking for the waiter…meanwhile the two tables that arrived after had their orders taken before us…
We waited 30 minutes for an order and again the tables arriving after us were eating way before us.
When the order finally arrived the waiter had one of the orders completely wrong and even tho I told him I didn’t order that, he proceeding on saying that he was positive that someone did. Basically stating I was wrong and offered no solution. Since we had to be somewhere I just told him that I would take the plate, and again offering no solution.
By the time I wanted to pay for the food we had to wait another 15 because although I was trying to get his attention I was being ignored. Another waitress saw me and ignored me until I asked her and she just stated her colleague would be available soon.
We felt the micro- racism and it made us uncomfortable. Overall the food was okay nothing to be amused about. I would prefer to go to the dinner up the road where it’s humble and the staff is very kind. The staff etiquette was beyond rude and for a place that’s in a main tourist area I would recommend that the staff get trained on common courtesy and...
