I understand this place is fairly new so maybe they still need to work some things out or train their staff better, but the service really made us not want to return. We called about a half hour ahead of time just to see if they take walk ins or if we needed a reservation and we were told they required reservations but they had an opening in a half hour so I said sure sign me up. Getting there, the place is half empty so I don’t understand why you need reservations and why they can’t just seat you if they have space, but whatever. We get seated and are placing our order and I ask if the pasta dishes come with bread but our waitress said they were all out of bread. Yet we ordered garlic dough balls so they can make balls from dough but not bread? It takes a long time but finally our dough balls come out, and they’re good, I’m not going to diss the food quality. However, the table next to us gets seated and their waitress immediately brings out complimentary bread. We asked the people at that table if they ordered that and they said it was just brought out and not ordered. Now we ONLY ordered the dough balls because we were told there was no bread. The waitress never said they were making more bread or it would be out but in a little bit, she said out of bread and that’s not an option. So we paid extra for the dough balls when we could have gotten bread for free. Our pasta dishes we ordered as our meal then took over an hour to come out. So we ordered the dough balls because we wanted bread with our pasta and then by the time we had our meal they were cold. And it was late, like after 9pm so the restaurant was not busy at all. And on top of everything I don’t feel like the wait staff provided any relief for the disappointments. If you’re truly out of bread but have dough balls maybe offer them complimentary instead? I shouldn’t be paying for something so similar when other tables are getting bread for free. And there’s no reason at all that a plate of pasta should take over an hour to come out. We didn’t want to be out that late eating dinner and never would have gone if we knew it would take that long. The pasta was also just mediocre. So basically the food is alright but service sucks, so if you want to try it maybe consider take out unless you have a lot...
Read moreI contact them via Google text a few days before our reservations to see what gluten free options they have. The owner Chad responded quickly and told me what would be safe and what is definitely not. He was sure to list the sauces I could have and that their meatballs do have gluten so because they are heated with their house sauce, that would be unsafe too.He suggested a few other sauces including the marinara. I can't begin to tell you how much the detailed responses put me at ease and had me looking forward to our dinner. The place did not disappoint. We arrived earlier than the rest of our dinner party so we had drinks at the bar. The staff was very welcoming. Cathy a relative of the owner came over and introduced herself and assisted us with our reservation seating in the diningroom. There is also seating in the bar area, where we plan on going this Thursday when it's just us two. The food was so good! Very large portions so come hungry. Our dinner guests found it relaxing and we're very happy with the their meals. 3 had the papa Bruno pasta dish which comes with 2 meatballs AND a sausage. Plus soup or salad with your entree. They do not have a gf option for dessert but the owner plans on adding that in the future. Chad, the owner came out and checked on own meal and experience. Very nice touch and how it use to be when you visited a family owned...
Read moreMy wife and I were looking forward to trying Bruno's for the first time choosing last Thursday for the happy hour, $1 wings & homemade pasta. Our anticipated dining experience started out on a low note due to confusion on the part of the hostess & our waitress concerning seating for happy hour & the $1 wings. After they checked with someone, we were told we would have to sit at the bar even though they specify on their facebook page that Happy Hour was in the "Bar Area" (which has some booths and high top tables). We pointed this out and were about to leave when the 'manager or owner' approached us looking annoyed and insisted we would have to sit at the bar. Since he did not offer an explanation as to why this was not what they advertised, or offered to discuss further or appeared to value our business, I said "have a good day" and we left. Let me reiterate that Bruno's is advertising Happy Hour in the "Bar Area" and furthermore their were no other customers in the bar or entire restaurant for that matter. To say we were disappointed in how we were treated by him and spoiled our anticipated enjoyment of Bruno's is an understatement. Also, to be clear, we have no animosity against the hostess or waitress who were very pleasant during the initial...
