Casa Mezcal, you have been a BLESSING to both the Penn Yan area, and my Tex-Mex loving heart. We have gone in person three times so far, and taken carry out at least twice, and every time our experience has been excellent. My attached photos are from our first visit in June as well as our most recent visit, today Friday, October 13th. The Azteca dip deserves a shout out, to start with. Smoothe, warm queso with bite size pieces of steak, shrimp, veggies and seasoning, this appetizer with a basket of house tortilla chips quickly stole our hearts. We have also taken it to-go and heated it up hours later at home and it re-heats very nicely. Today we finally tried the tacos. I opted for steak with flour tortilla Original Street Tacos, and my husband got the Al Pastor Street Tacos (pork) on corn tortilla. We shared them and added the two house sauces they were served with as well as some habanero, and whew, EXCELLENCE. 100% hit the spot and my husband thanked me three different times for suggesting lunch šŸ˜† dreaming of those delicious tacos reminded me to come write this review. The Steak and Cheese burritos have been my go-to for a quick lunch. A massive burrito filled with steak and grilled peppers & onions (optional), smothered in a perfect blend of burrito sauce and queso. Eaten fork and knife style. Perfection. Our kids (7yo and 10yo) actually ordered these during our first visit and let us try a bite. We both immediately had FOMO and ordered them for lunch a few day later. No regrets. The cocktails we've tried have always been lovely and fresh. The individuals working in various areas of the restaurant all seem to genuinely enjoy their work, and our service has always been friendly and accommodating. We hope to continue enjoying every item on the menu for many, many years.

I ordered the Haddock tacos grilled and my husband got the steak quesadilla. His food was good and the steak was meaty. At first I was served breaded Haddock tacos and told by our waitress that is what she heard when taking my order. She eventually took the plate back and corrected it. I didn't mind waiting as the chips were very tasty. When she came back, rather quickly, I was a bit confused. At first I thought they just put rice in my tacos, but at closer inspection and taste, realized they minced my haddock up to the equivalent of cat food. It tasted oily and was not at all what I would expect for a grilled fish taco. I was convinced this must have been a mistake as I don't see how a restaurant would take pride in serving something like that. A manager told me that is how they cook the fish. No where on the menu for this item does it state they chop the fish finely if grilled. He said it was to cook it faster. At this point I am blown away. The integrity of the fish is unrecognizable. It was oily and there was barely any fish in my 3 tacos. A third woman came over and said she was discounting my meal because it was put in wrong the first time. Our waitress kind of apologized and we left.

20250520 I ordered the beef and chicken fajita with 2 flour tortilla. My to-go order was missing the tortilla, but good thing... I didn't need the carbs. The meal was delicious, but unfortunately, it was cold by the time I got the hotel, which was only a few mins away. The presentation was great, and i like like tortilla bowl with the refried beans, delicious! Unfortunately, my finicky pups are not interested in the beef or chicken fajita. 😩 I also have root beer from Finger Lakes 😱. I got a bottle to try. Going to find where it's sold! I would come back again. I want to try the chicken tortilla soup and carne asada. Saw pics of these 2 dishes on the Google maps reviews. They looked delicious! The employees are very polite and helpful. It's refreshing since many businesses lack customer service nowadays.

My good buddy, "THE BOSS" always speaks highly of this place... I finally figured that I needed to take my wife to check out what EVERYONE seems so happy about. Let me tell you, from the moment we walked in, I looked around and thought, "Hmmmm, this is NOT your basic place that some create to just make some food for people and then make some money from them and not put too much effort in between" I was impressed as soon as I was looking around waiting to be seated. And then...... The music is really good.... Relaxing, and just MOOD SETTING HAPPY.... The staff are seriously respectful, polite, WELCOMING AND THOROUGH. Food and drinks are well above average. The presentation of dishes and servings alone are remarkable, and that's BEFORE YOU EVEN TASTE YOUR FOOD. This is an establishment that HAS QUICKLY CREATED A REGULAR OF MY WIFE AND I, and I know MANY who feel the same. I am proud of the Team that put this place on the map, in our home town. Also.proud of everyone involved in making this restaurant a place to feel comfortable at because it is very clean, organized and well cared for...... We look forward to our visits WEEKLY now, and we hope and BELIEVE this place will be around for a very long time.... Good job ladies and gentlemen. YOU TRULY HAVE A WINNER!!!

Yours sincerely, (THE BLUE COLLAR CARHARTT MAN) LOL and GOOD FRIEND OF...
