Placed my order over the phone as soon as the restaurant opened for a pickup 40 minutes later, and when I got there everything was ready and waiting for me. The server I did interact with was very friendly and courteous, and genuinely seemed happy to be there which had me leaving with a smile.
When I got home and opened everything up it all looked so good, with my order of the Warm Soft Pretzels with the Beer Cheese and Beer Mustard dips and the Grilled Southwest Chicken Breast Sandwich with Onion Rings just calling out to me to dig into them.
Started with the Pretzels and my only complaint is that they were too salty. The cheese dip was superb and while I'm not much of a Mustard guy I was happy with that as well, but the Pretzels themselves had a tad too much salt. Alone they are already on the salty side, but then on top of that they have sea salt sprinkled on them. Easy enough to brush the sea salt off, but leave it on hit the senses too hard.
Now the sandwich was a whole different ballgame. As a spice mouse I was not prepared for just how spicy this was going to be, but even with my mouth burning and my stomach angry, the sandwich was delicious and cooked to perfection. And those onion rings, oh my goodness, perfection. The texture, the flavor, the amount, chef's kiss.
A lovely dinner was had and I think I'll be coming back in the future sometime, if for nothing else than those...
Read moreWaitress took order, brought drinks, food - disappeared. She was unattentive. Not a greeting, just handed us menus and came back to take our order. Disappeared for the entirety of our meal. Never asked how our meals were or if we needed anything else. When we handed her the credit card, she said an abrupt, "Thanks," as she sprinted away. They were not busy. We arrived at approximately 4:30 pm. When we left she never thanked us or even said boo as we walked by - the waitress she was chatting with did, however. As for the food, we each ordered a pasta dish. The pasta was mush for each of our meals. One dinner had overcooked, tough, dry chicken. My dinner, the chicken was cooked properly - However, the "Vodka Sauce" tasted like nothing more than an extremely bland, unseasoned tomato cream sauce - which, combined with the mushy pasta, made it difficult to eat. But since our waitress never asked how our meals were, there was nothing we could do about it. We needed to eat before we made our over two hour drive home. Lesson learned. Hopefully, we'll have a better experience the next time we dine in the area - that won't be hard! I gave it 2 stars, instead of only one, because on a 90° day, their a/c worked well and our ice tea was...
Read moreMy wife and I wanted to try a new place, so we tried this place. My wife got a bowl of seafood chowder soup and I got a Reuben Sandwich with what we were told from the waitress, soup of the day is Seafood chowder or French onion soup. The first spoonful my wife took of Seafood chowder (which tasted mostly like tuna fish) was burnt, which left a lingering burnt taste in your mouth) So we told the waitress about it, so they could check that in the kitchen. Also they up charged us for the French onion soup $2.50. Which it states right on there menu that Rueben comes with soup of the day! The waitress said she would see about taking it off the bill. Granted my wife did take the rest home so I can certainly understand that charge. The manager asked where the rest of the soup was. According to the waitress. But I asked Joe the manager and he could not find the up charge on the menu and said we will have that changed and supposedly he tried the soup and did not think it was burnt. Unless they scraped the bottom of the pot when they got my...
