Very good food. Some very unique menu items. Went for the lunch buffet recently. Very good, great value and food was as good as always. I will do it again soon. Update 10/22, went to Georgiaās last night as in the past we enjoy the food. Unfortunately as with many posts I have to say my dinner wasnāt very good, as a matter of fact it was lousy. Let me explain for those that are not familiar. Most items there are very good and some quite unique. I enjoy a Friday night fish fry as I was brought up on them by my family, so I have a very good taste for a good fish fry. This however wasnāt a good one. First it was 10 oz. That should have been my first clue. Second I asked the opinion of the wait person. She said it was very good. I asked have you had one and she replied ānoā to my self I said than how would you know. That should have been my second clue. It was small, dry in texture and had no taste. I believe this was frozen fish no fresh. Hughe disappointment. When it was brought to the table with my wifeās dinner and set in front of me it was accompanied by tarter sauce, coke slaw and ketchup, all in plastic containers. The presentation had much to be desired. This is a sit down fine dinning Italian restaurant, very poor. If you canāt do it right and fish fry is an afterthought because other restaurants serve it, than donāt put it on the menu. It makes you look bad. Another thing that happened. Bare with me on this. The restaurant is broken down into a main dinning area and bar area. The main dinning area has a number of tables served by 4 or 5 wait persons. The bar has 12 to 14 seats at the bar and 5 tables. We decided it would be nice to sit in the bar area as the main dinning area is a little dark. The thing is the tables in the bar are served by one wait person per table. In other words they have a few tables in the main dinning area and one table in the bar. Must be a reason for this, but when we were there all the bar tables were taken. The thing is the servers have to go back and forth from one room to the other so you donāt see them much. Order a drink from the bar, which is only several feet away and they walk all the way into the dining area to a pick up window to get your drink. Ask for any thing else and you get it they walk all the way back again. Not very efficient. I am sure there is some logic here, but I donāt see it. Needless to say donāt order the fish fry and if you have the time...
Read moreMy family and friends went to Georgio's Village Café in New Hartford, New York, in April of 2013. We were the first party of five to be seated for dinner. As we waited for our dinner to be served, we noticed that the restaurant was filled to capacity and the noise level was very loud. We could not hear each other talk. Every table had received beverages, bread, appetizers, where applicable, and their meals before we received our meals. After a forty five minute wait, I got up and asked to speak with the manager. I was told that the owner, Georgio was only a few feet from me and I could express my concerns with him. He was rude, crude, sarcastic, and walked away from me. When The waitress finally took our order, I mentioned to her that I have celiac disease and am unable to eat pasta. She told me there would be no charge to have the broccoli instead. The food finally arrived cold, no flavors to any of our dishes including the take out meal, and I was charged two dollars for the broccoli. We later shared our experience with other professionals and friends who told us they had a horrible experience there. They told us that they were not charged the extra two dollars when they had a vegetable instead of the pasta. There are better restaurants in the area that can and do treat their customers with dignity and respect. Other restaurants serve real Italian food with more flavor with reasonable prices and service in a calm, quiet atmosphere. Don't waste your time, money, or friendships by being mistreated by a callus, mean spirited owner and staff. You can celebrate special occasions in a friendlier place of business where your presence, money, and memories can be appreciated and enjoyed by those who have a special place and home...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad our first experience with this restaurant last evening. All we could say is wow!!! Food is delicious...fair priced for the quality and quantity you get. The appetizers were so plentiful they could've been used as the main course. The best long hots I have EVER had...the creamy sauce was superb. The greens spinelli were also out of this world!!! Everything we ordered was yummy! We had a short wait but it was worth it. Our waiter was outstanding as well. Can't think of his name (but is from Frankfort Center)attentive/accommodating/helpful and did not rush us. Took time to answer our questions even though it was very busy! Place is small and is hard to accommodate handicap people... handicap accessibility should be highlighted as we parked in the rear and ended up trying to come in where there were stairs??ugh We had to ask for a chair when told of the wait even though I'm on crutches and my husband uses a walker!! No cocktail waitress to offer us a cocktail during our wait... I probably would have had a few Couldn't get past the crowd in our predicament:( Lastly the lighting could be better...us old timers have trouble. The noise level was a bit annoying at times...a few customers but the female wait staff were the loudest and most disturbing:( Overall a great restaurant and we...
