As a long time customer of their former Poughkeepsie location, I am over the moon to see the whole team at Little Loaf have the space to grow into and flourish in their new brick and mortar bakeshop in New Paltz. New Paltz — you are one lucky little town to have some of the best vegan options in the Hudson Valley all at your doorstep! I’m not vegan, and I can’t live without my Little Loaf pastries. Trust me when I say, they are doing some kind of magic here. The hype is real, so please allow me to gush…
I visited on their bustling opening day and arrived to an enthusiastic breakfast crowd. The space itself is light-filled, cheerful and spacious with thoughtful details and nods to their adorable branding here & there. Even the bathrooms are adorable! Worth a peek even if nature isn’t calling :) The atmosphere was joyful and alive with a community table taking center stage, as well as more intimate seating options. Lots of lush plants soaking up the picturesque view from the massive street facing windows. I can see Little Loaf being an oasis for folks looking for a quiet spot during the week, and a way to gather with (and make new!) friends during busier weekend days. It looks like they’ll have plenty of outdoor seating once warmer weather arrives, too.
Every member of the staff was efficient and just so incredibly warm & friendly. What a joy to see so many familiar faces from PUF, as well as some new ones that have been behind the scenes creating the newly expanded menu. Kudos to all! I’m excited to work my way through the entire breakfast and lunch menus. Pastries as always are just BEYOND, and supported by a well-curated selection of tea & coffee drinks. Prices are very reasonable, and as someone who lives on a limited income, that is very much appreciated!
Major congrats and best wishes for continued success to Colleen & Rian in this next Little Loaf chapter, and for building such an inclusive community of fans! They deserve all of the praise they’re about to receive, and it couldn’t have happened to...
Read moreFirst, I should say I am not a vegan or even a vegetarian. I have some sensitivity to dairy and gluten, but I can always eat some. So I’ve been to this bakery to taste their baked goods and have some breakfast . This time I placed an order for 18 cupcakes! We’re having a family party and one of my grandchildren cannot have eggs , dairy or gluten and one of the others cannot have gluten . So I ordered six vegan gluten-free cupcakes and 12 vegan cupcakes! I bought a couple of different flavors ahead of time and they even made some special for me to try so I could decide what I wanted to order! I could not believe how accommodating and gracious they were about all of this. And the best part was all the other people at this party loved these cupcakes. They even took some home and trust me. these people could eat anything they wanted. They loved these cupcakes . First of all they were beautiful to look at The flavors were delicious. The texture was delicious. The frosting was delicious. And they were so accommodating to what I needed and how many , lots of emails back-and-forth. I just can’t say enough about this place. Their love and dedication to what they do is apparent . By the way, they treat the customers , help them problem solve and also by the products that they make. Do not be fooled by the fact that this is a vegan bakery and restaurant… just try it out because it’s just a very well run., well thought out , well taken care of place to eat, that makes the most amazing food! Forget that it’s vegan , It’s just...
Read moreI don't know why it took me so long to write a review bc we found this gem a few years ago. My son has food allergies so it's hard to find bakeries that can accommodate his dietary needs. Although I am not a vegan, we have made changes in our lifestyle to make healthier choices in the foods we eat. Many of the bakeries we have tried offers the same cupcake and cookie (taste terrible) but when we came across Little Loaf, my son had so many items to choose from and his eyes lit up for the first time! For a mama dealing with food allergies, this warmed my heart. All their items are FANTASTIC and my 5 year old says they are the best bakery in the world! I swear their croissants are better than the non-vegan ones. I love that their ingredients are clean and all their desserts are the perfect amount of sweetness and I don't feel like I'm biting into a block of sugar. What also I love about them is not just the pastries but it's the people. The staff truly is one of a kind. So incredibly sweet! You guys are truly a gem in the Hudson Valley! I can't wait to see your success...
