El Jalapeño Charro — Restaurant in Town of New Windsor

Well today I had my first visit to this restaurant. I had high hopes because I drive in front of this place all the time and it looks classy yet traditional so I said why not ,Food was okay. Not the greatest thing trust me im Mexican I know Mexican food, The atmosphere is loud it's a busy place if it's a quiet place you seek this is not a place for you it was loud because there's a lot of people which is a good thing it means people like the restaurant,the service, however !it's a different story. I was greeted by Clara. She took my order and that was the last I saw of her until she came over to give me the check. She didn't check on me at all not once I get it she was busy attending other tables with much more people I was just 1 person so obvious the more people the bigger her tip but that doesn't mean you shouldn't treat one less than the other right ? I told her not to take the menu because I wanted to order a drink I was waiting for her she knew I was wanting to place an order for a drink, half way into my meal I went up to try to order it at the bar and I was told it takes 10 minutes to to make so I decided not to take the drink because I was almost done with my meal and then once I got back from the bar she came over to ask if if everything was fine and if I needed the check I told her about the drink and that I my self went to the bar to order it she responded with I walked by you were reading a book nooo you should have said ok I'm back are you ready ? Not even an acknowledgement after I told her about the situation she smiled said ok I'm be back with the check I for sure will not be coming back here for a 34$ bill no thank you I eat so much better with better service in other...

Very nice location, the restaurant is decorated in a fashion that makes you feel like your in mexico. The attention to detail starting from the colors inside the place to the extraordinary designs and craftsmanship of the seating chairs. Each one has its unique texture and drawing. The tables as well. They are beautiful. The place is very clean. Once you enter you are greated by a hostess, which asks you if you prefer a booth or table (this might sound not that important,but it is). Once seated you start seeing the staff a work. Glass of water. You are greeted with chips and salsa. And during all this time the staff is very attentive. They have beers and cocktails. My wife decided to try a cocktail and she said it was delish. The waiter took our order. Very nice person. A smile always on his face. Gave us time to decide didnt rush us. The food came in timely fashion. Let us finish our chips and cocktail. Food was very nicely presented on the plate. It was very good. Tasty I would say. They offered us desert. Which also was very nicely decorated on the plate. During all this time. The staff was there if we had any questions or concerns. Refilling the water constantly. Overall this place has a great vibe. Had dinner at this location on 12/15. We were greeted in a timely fashion by the hostess and quickly escorted to the table of our choice (due to the weather, place was not crowded). As we made our way towards our dinner table, we looked around and found this location to be very well kept and nicely decorated.

Within a minute or so, we were greeted at our dinner table by who turned out to be the star of the night, our waiter Carlos. Carlos was affable and absolutely made us feel like we were at home.

We ordered a pineapple jalapeno margarita and some white sangria. The drinks were made to our perfection. We then ordered the Mariscada and the chiles rellenos. We were very pleased with our food. It was served hot enough so that our food was still warm towards the end of our meals.

Now back to our waiter. We found Carlos to be the best waiter we've encountered in a very long time. Carlos was extremely attentive and pleasantly knowledgeable of the menu. The food and drinks are enough for us to come back here again. However, it was Carlos's treatment and personality that cemented our future return to this restaurant.
