Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Town of Newburgh

Save yourself a trip to this place, it's a waste of time along with the hour you have to wait to get your DRINKS. I will not be returning to this establishment ever again since I've only had bad experiences. 1st story- My partner and I went on a date a little bit before Christmas, our server was ok, they are a bit slow with serving.There was a huge draft, was freezing in there. So my partner and I order a meal, we get it, it's not great in flavor but I dealt with it, did not complain about that, took a bite didn't like it left it aside. We asked for to go containers since my partner said they would eat it at home, as I'm putting the food in the box, there's a huge black hair at the bottom of the pasta! Was not mine, I have dyed Brown hair. They offered to remake it, we were short on time I said no, got a gift card, left it at that.

2nd story- I tried to give them a second try, went during lunch, got there at 2:35. I asked to sit at a table since I didn't want a booth, nor did I want to sit by a window since it has a draft. VERY COLD IN THERE. The host was very rude dismissed my request, Sat us at a booth by the bar, we didn't say anything were just flabbergasted. 10 minutes pass they sit another family behind us, another 10 minutes pass, the server went to greet them before us. He gets to us after, we tell him our drink order he didn't let us finish talking before he left again. My partner was gonna say we were ready to order. 15 minutes go by we finally get the drinks, I'm getting antsy, I don't like being somewhere too long just waiting for nothing as I'm sure no one else does, my partner orders. The server says okay, 20 minutes go by YET AGAIN. They bring out something completely wrong. I make my partner return it, they do. By this point I'm angry and done with this place, and guess what comes out like around 5 minutes after ANOTHER WRONG PLATE. I was sick of the waiting left the gift card they gave me on the first bad experience I had and just left. Wasted so much time there. Should have known from the first time it was...

I have never had an issue with this restaurant before. Until we had a waitress by the name of Rachelle (forgive me for misspelling her name). To start, I asked for a water with little ice, and she provides a lemon when I never asked for it in the first place. Normally I let these things slide, however things get worse from there. When she returns with the food for my spouces, it takes her eight minutes to bring mine. EIGHT MINUTES. Naturally, I try to let it slide as the chef could be taking long to send it out. Then we go to the matter of my drink. What I had for dinner was an 8 oz steak, medium rare and normally when I eat my steak I prefer a drink to eat it with. However, after she gives me my steak, she asks me again if I wanted an angry orchard, after confirming it with her, she takes TEN MINUTES to bring my drink. TEN. MINUTES. Furthermore, while I was waiting, I watched as she was on her phone by one of the keyosks (or however you spell it) for the waitors/ waitresses. I'm sure she was enjoying what was on there rather than thinking about the customers she was supposed to be serving because I'm sure I mean nothing to her as I wait for my drink seeing how she was smiling and laughing about it. Then, when she FINALLY brings my drink, I eat my steak, only to find it colder than it was originally. And don't get me started on my lumpy mash potatoes. I will say the only thing i was satisfied was the desert, a chocolate molten cake with vanilla bean ice cream on the side. To add to that, it was a different waitress who brings it on time! Next time I want my food to be cold or to be forgotten in the restaurant completely, I might as well ask for my waitress to be Rachelle.

This location should close its doors or should be named Crapplebees! Went here for my grandparents anniversary back in October! Wish i just walked out, the moment we walked in it was the beginning of a mess of problems or something just going wrong, first off, we had to wait 20 minutes for a table when there was at least 8 different tables open. We finally got a seat after 20ish minutes of waiting, then this is where things got real bad, we ordered drinks and it took at least 15 minutes for them to come out to our table. We finally put our order in, took an astonishing 45 minutes to get are food!!! For 4 people, not even joking. My grandmothers steak came out first and it was very oily and not cooked well, she told me is was okay buts could’ve been better, then my grandpas burger came out and it was salty looked like someone took a salt shaker and just poured it on the burger, my mothers order came out which was a salad and it was only okay very salty also. They litterally forgot about my meal which was the chicken fingers and fries, when it came it was barley warm, the server was very annoyed looking that we kept asking for stuff like ketchup and sauce because they never gave us any of that which we requested which you think they would give it to you if you requested it, not at this location they didn’t. 🤦‍♂️ Paying for the meals was a whole other problem in itself. Took a whopping 20 minutes just to pay for the dang bill when it should take like 6 minutes tops. We were all highly disappointed and will never becoming back to this apples-bees ever again! Please avoid this headache and go...
