This is an old fashioned pizza place/restaurant famous for their thin crust pizza, and individual bar pies. Be sure to bring cash as they do not take credit cards. My brothers love this place, and I have been here many times, but I am disappointed. Mostly I feel like they are cheap. Pizza skimpy on toppings, soda not that large causing me to order 2. I ordered a gluten free bar pie with onions and mushrooms and had to almost search for the onion and the mushrooms could have been more generous too. I complained to the waitress about the onion and she asked if I wanted more and I said yes, but then she never brought them. When I asked again she said she was not going to charge me. That's not the point. I wanted more onions. The 2 times I have taken out a meal with pasta for Mom they don't even give grated cheese or Italian bread like another Italian place in town with better hot meals. The meals were good but not great. Everyone raves about Eddies and their pizza is usually really good. I used to eat the regular ones. I still feel like they are cheap. I have not had a cooked meal myself in a long time, but remember it to be just okay. I think the real draw is the pizza and would not come here for a cooked meal if it were up to me, but often with a group when we come and their prices...
Read moreEddie's has been in business since the 1930's. It does not look like your typical pizza place. There is a long full service bar along the side of the restaurant. There are a few booths in the back of the bar. There is a full dining room in the next room. We ordered the pizza with the works. It was good. The dough is extremely thin. The people sitting across from us ordered a plain cheese pizza and a meatball pie. Both looked delicious. I also ordered eggplant rollatini with a dinner salad. The salad was huge. I shared it with my dinner companion. The eggplant rollatini was stuffed with ricotta cheese and topped with a very tasty tomato sauce and melted gooey mozzarella cheese. It was delicious. It was served with warm crusty bread. We ordered a pitcher of soda but there is a full bar with wine specials and beers and more. My friend ordered the grill chicken special: balsamic chicken with roasted red peppers and topped with lots of melted mozzarella cheese. It was delicious. Our wait person was very friendly and helpful. At the end of dinner, our waitress brought us a plate of multi-colored cookies covered in chocolate and chocolate sprinkles. It was very good. I would go back. It...
Read moreThe BEST pizza in the world for the 60 years I've been going!!! Ray's in the Village was awesome until they closed but for different reasons and still nowhere close to Eddie's. I remember as a young boy going into the kitchen and hanging with Eddie and watching him bounce around and cook and tell me/us how he does it. Nothing has changed, the recipe, the atmosphere is still Eddie's. I live in Florida now, since 1972, and I go to NY at least once a year if not for a Met game then at least for a minimum of one Eddie's pie. I've raised my 5 kids to continue the tradition and the too love Eddie's. We always will. Anybody who has not gone, you better go!!!! Not only is the thin crust pizza amazing, but literally any and every menu item is absolutely the best/perfect in every traditional Italian way. You can close your eyes and taste Eddie's touch all over everything!!!! I miss you Eddie, but I see you every time I go visit you :-) With love and great...
