I’ve been ordering from this place for a long time and every week, I request the pizza sauce (or ā€œpie sauce,ā€ as one employee told me to call it) on the side so I can dip the pizza crust. More often than not, they’ve gotten it wrong sending their pasta sauce and never offered to correct it. For the last two weeks, however, they finally got it right—so I assumed the issue was resolved.

Tonight, I called and specifically asked for the pie sauce, using the exact term I was told to use. The girl on the phone yessed me to death, but when my order arrived, it was the wrong sauce again. When I called to clarify, she immediately had an attitude, sighed while I was speaking, and eventually got the manager, who then claimed to be the owner.

He told me they ā€œdon’t do the pie sauceā€ because people could copy their recipe—something I’ve never heard in all the years I’ve been ordering. I pointed out that I’ve been given the sauce before, but he insisted that was a mistake and dismissed my concerns. On top of that, no other pizzeria pulls this nonsense. Every other place will give you a side of pizza sauce if you ask—especially with garlic knots. It’s not some special, it’s just basic marinara, the same sauce they use on their pizzas. That’s like saying I’m not going to sell someone my chocolate chip cookies because they can copy my recipe, lol. It’s absurd!

Beyond the inconsistent delivery service, the customer service is terrible. No apology, no accountability—just excuses and attitude. If they had simply told me from the start that they don’t give out the sauce, I wouldn’t have wasted my time or money continuing to request it and order it. But charging me extra, giving me the wrong sauce, and then acting like I’m the problem? That’s unacceptable.

The only good thing about this place is the Friday night delivery guy—he’s awesome. Too bad the rest of the staff doesn’t have the same attitude. The so called ā€œownerā€ was happy to lose a customer and I’m thrilled to oblige! Do better! Have you read...

Never had pizza from gigis before, I deeply regret trying it. When you walk in there is no greeting from anybody which made it difficult and a bit awkward to place an order as I didn’t know who to talk to for my order. Food came out of the oven fairly quick, I got two regular slices and one grandma slice. When I first looked at the grandma slice, I it was absolutely shameful and disrespectful to call that a grandma slice. The sauce looked dry, the cheese looked like it was sitting out all day, worst grandma slice on the island. I thought okay well maybe the regular slice would be good but I was wrong. The sauce used for their pizza was some sort of sweet sauce, something not used in traditional pizza. I was immediately grossed out by the pizza and could not finish my meal, I feel sick in my stomach after eating this distasteful food. Gigi’s website about section states ā€œA Slice partner for 9 years, this restaurant is a mainstay of the community.ā€ I am shocked they have been in business this long with such horrible pizza. The only good thing I have to say about this pizzeria is that they keep the drinks cold in the fridge, other than that they are subpar and are a disgrace to Italian cuisine. My recommendation for anyone willing to try this place would be to stay far far away and go to a...

I have worked in this area for 6 years and most recently have ordered from this pizzeria approximately every week for the last 2/3, including some large conference orders. My favorite dishes are the chicken Francese and penne alla vodka which estimates to be a $30 meal weekly. Previously I’ve had some delivery issues in which I received an email from Gino’s stating I would get a discount by mentioning the managers name. I never took the offer but continued to order because I like the food. Today, I wanted my food before 12:30 (even when I order at 11; that is the time I get the food) today, I ordered at 10:30 (very nice of home to take my order) Despite stressing the fact that I called early for hopes of an early delivery, I called at 12:18 to cancel the order. (I was told between 11:30 and 11:45) I called at approximately 11:50 and was told he was on the way already (this restaurant is 7 minutes away) When contacting Gigi’s, rather than being apologetic I was placed on hold so he could tell the delivery guy (who had just gotten there, according to him) to take the food back. I love Gigi’s food but I have finally given up on the terrible customer service, lack of consideration and attitude of the man taking the order and...

Prosaic & popular, falls short of epicurian. Looks like a family enterprise. At any time 6-7 persons, nattily attired in 'Gigi' uniform, are busy behind display countertop, in collision-free Brownian motion. Affine memorabilia adorns cash register. Business driven by locational convenience. Patrons appear to be mostly those wanting to fill-up, rolling off the busy stores in the vicinity. Backroom has snug seating for ~20. Their app sucks. I reached 5 minutes past store pickup time by app. They seemed surprised an order was even placed but hurried to add pizza will be ready in 5-6 minutes. The half-n-half pizza came after 24 minutes waiting time, far from the char requested via app. They did not skimp on veggie toppings, though. Accompanying fries soggy and garlic knots batch processed {never let an irate patron stand and observe}. However, 5 minutes in the home-oven and flavors came through, big time. Overall, family opinion was divided. Willing to give them another try and then scale up, or down.....

So I ordered here through Uber eats just a little bit ago, and I’ve never in my life immediately went and wrote a review. But here I am. I ordered a large pizza, calzone, and buongiorno panini through Uber eats. There was literally nothing right with this order. The pizza was undercooked, and bland. Calzone was literally raw in the middle. And the worst part was the ā€œpaniniā€ they sent. It was NOT even a panini! It was literally a sandwich on pita bread!! Not toasted and on pita bread. The description said it included prosciutto, which it didn’t. It came with what I’m assuming is prosciutto cotto, which is a fancy ham!! That is not what I ordered! They are completely different. I didn’t order a pita bread sandwich with ham… I ordered a panini with prosciutto. Worst pizzeria I’ve ordered from in years. Will not be reordering. Stay away.

Such delicious pizza, I crave it at least once a week. Two regular slices and a soda, can't beat it. The crust, the sauce, the cheese... All perfection. They have so many specialty slices that look great, but so far I've only been for the regular slices. But if a place makes a great cheese pizza, everything else is sure to be amazing. They have nice tables if you want to sit down, it's clean and neat looking, but it won't knock your socks off in terms of atmosphere. But that's quite alright with most NYers I imagine.
