BEWARE. We didnât expect much to begin with from an inauthentic hole in the wall Mex restaurant in Port Washington. However, we bit the bullet and decided to give it a go as we were close by. We first heard about this place from a neighbor/ close friend. (Apparently he has witnessed multiple different people getting into verbal altercations on 2 separate occasions with the owner over his insufferable personality). He told us about a time he witnessed the owner belittling a person based on their appearance during an argument about the food. Apparently, he grew offended by the customers request and got snarky/ loud, and a comment was made about the persons size. I was genuinely in shock at how they didnât get shut down after that. As we entered anticipating what this supposed tyrant would have in store for us. We sat by the door in case we had to make a quick escape lol. I kid you not 10 minutes into our dinner Iâm reaching for my tote bag situating myself when I notice 2 roaches crawling up the leg of our table. I immediately asked my husband to leave before we place our orders and just settle for fast food instead. I was on the verge of vomiting when I noticed that they were snacking on some gunk under the tables leg. Additionally, before leaving we also noticed a nasty old wet rag smell as if someone literally just cleaned our tableware with the dirtiest sponge or rag they could find. We expected it might be dirty mop water used to scrub the floors. YUCK. Just reimagining this place is repulsive. Upon informing the short bald owner who wears glasses that we were going to leave, he didnât say anything or EVEN ASK WHY! In a very rude cold glare he grabbed the menus off the table, and stomped away angry as if we wasted his time. We werenât there long enough for him to berate us for something lol, but it was clear we werenât valued whatsoever. He didnât even ask what happened. I wouldnât be surprised if we hear about this place on the news one day for something crazy. I think they should definitely be evaluated. Idk something about that guy and this place is fishy. How is this place still running? I hate seeing small businesses shut down. I prefer to see them succeed, but at what cost? The complete disrespect and disregard of your customers, or worse possibly getting someone sick⌠I hope action is...
Read moreNew in town and decided to try out a local place for drinks before dinner. Place was empty, low AC and only one table of two eating a couple at the bar, and some workers. Owner all sweaty chatted up the table while we waited patiently at the bar. Then 10 minutes later we get our menu and try to get our drink order in to him but he proceeds to walk over and chat the table up for another 10-15 minutes. When he comes back to decide to make my drinks, he puts his hand out and tells me to wait a minute while he refills the peopleâs wine and water next to me. While heâs refilling water he stares us down. We decided to leave at that point. He immediately says â bye, byeâ even before I could say we donât want the drinks anymore. He couldnât wait to get us out. Unclear why I received this treatment. Maybe he has a issue with people wanting to enjoy a cocktail, or maybe he is unkind to some asians in my group. Either way now I know why...
Read moreThis restaurant is hands-down one of the best dining experiences in Port Washington! From the moment you walk in, the warmth and kindness of the staff make you feel so welcome. The lovely ladies of the waitstaff were incredibly sweet and attentive, and the manager was personable and genuinely cared about making sure we had a great time.
The food? Absolute perfection! Every dish was flavorful and the drinks were amazingâexpertly crafted and good quality tequila. I recently celebrated a birthday here, and they truly went above and beyond. Sparklers, festive energy, and the staff made it such a memorable and special experience.
Having been here over five times now, I can confidently say it just keeps getting better. This place deserves to be a staple in Port Washington cuisine. Highly...
